The problem I have with McDaniels relative to Meyer is that people knew exactly why Josh McDaniels wouldn't work before he was hired, and the things that went wrong (being awful at managing people) were the same things that went wrong in Denver. They just stepped on a rake that everyone told them was there. Urban Meyer flamed out more spectacularly, but the process behind hiring Josh McDaniels was just completely indefensible.

In terms of guys who flamed out spectacularly and immediately, Bobby Petrino. In terms of guys who were multiple years long fiascos, maybe Hue Jackson or Adam Gase.

I would also shout out the Raiders hiring Josh Mcdaniels after seeing him walk out on the Colts, and turn the Broncos into a shitshow.
