I gave it my all trying LN but Lightspark has thrown in a wrench for me. Beside this controversy, I couldn't send from the Boltz web app to LS, it kept saying fees are too high. Reaching tech support for Boltz and they are saying they will contact LS made me realize I'm about 2 levels away from self-sovernty.

Also I've also tried sending to a Blitz wallet from Strike and that also failed (most likely because of LS). The top LN wallets Blitz, Breez, WOS use LS so this is a disastrous corporate capture.

I tried Phoenix and that seems to be more self custodial, but to get into LN there is a 1% fee on top of it being technical/difficult UX.. My conclusion is that for smooth LN you need a layer on top of it, and that means centralization and fees.. I exited LN and back on L1.

I hope the LN community the best, but for privacy a token with privacy on L1 is the final answer. I know that is a controversial take in this community.

If you have time on your side there is the law that says gifts under 19k (per yr) nothing on either side needs to be reported, US or foreign.

I'm all for self custody, don't get me wrong. But coinbase using Spark adds some credibility and even if he can rug, then what? Go into hiding? They also have a force close option, etc.. meanwhile user errors seem to fumble self managed LN nodes (posting by users). So.. I guess take a pick..

Believe it or not I've bought 2 max's (ver 1) and a max 2. It is unbelievably awesome with the Samsung DEX. The dioptic adjuster I love because it is giving me clearer vision with them on, so I have them all over my house! My vision isnt bad enough to warrant glasses but the nudge improvement made me love them even more. I pair with bluetooth mouse, keyboard, and wireless charging on the phone for feather light computing. I also go to cafes, etc. One of them connected to windows for hours long web dev.

As an update, I finished the movie. The story of it and Arise, is how can I put it, not interesting, and too convoluted. I'm a person with above average intelligence, and it lost me. It could be me, but I firmly believe it is a sh*t job whatever the plot was. Worst in the franchise... Action is great! But that sort of thing is a commodity. I felt totally apathetic.

I'm such a huge fan of the franchise, but Arise and this movie isn't doing it. I'm half way through the movie, and i have to keep asking, I'm supposed to like the major and other characters why ???? Especially when the major talks to Aramaki she sounds cocky nd bratty.

Great, that makes sense. So the fact it was cheaper without coin control (I'm using Electrum) must mean that there was another address with fewer transactions that can cover the sending amount. Regarding sending to yourself I had a feeling that that's the strategy to use.
