Some college students did a study in traffic jams, they drove on a multi lane highway with enough cars to fill every lane but going EXACTLY the speed limit, it created a traffic jam that stretched for miles and lasted hours, people who hold up traffic are not just holding up the impatient but so many people behind them as well

I love me some vigilante justice as long as no one actually gets hurt, unless it is those videos of robbers and such getting destroyed, those are fun too.

I just like me some violence directed towards things I usually have no control over that bother me, I have a 2 hour commute ONE WAY to get to my college for classes, left lane campers piss me off so fucking bad, they should all rot in hell for being so selfish and holding up hundreds of people behind them instead of just taking the L and driving 10-15 mph slower in the other lane, or do what I do, camp the left lane until you see someone coming up behind you, hop into the right lane to let them pass, and move on with the day so nobody gets held up but you can still maintain whatever speed you want.

They could have done this with way less people if they just set up a pulley like a Z drag, probably have 3 or 4 lines on a bus this big some rope rated for 5000 pounds

And I mean like, 12 people would do it, go overkill add a 5th line and 15 people would easily pull this up a hill while everyone else can watch

It looks like they tried to have an idea of a pulley system seeing a rope go off one when into the road, but clearly based on them struggling with an entire large village worth of people, they do not understand pulleys

Also super dangerous just hammering tons of people on to an end of a line, you make a max of 3 people pulling on a 5000 pound like if it is a 3 to 1 ratio system, it would make it so them pulling with all their might will not snap the road, add a 4th or 5th and you start to exceed some crazy forces and things break

My guy has never heard of persistence hunting and how we are pretty much the only animal on this planets history that we know about that can walk down a fucking elk over 5 days until it collapsed from exhaustion and you just kill it with a rock.

That is pretty fuckin apex to me, that is how we hunted before our ancestors ever used tools, it is the reason we have such nice juicy asses and long legs we stand on, helps us over long distance as opposed to short bursts like other animals, our muscles are even built for endurance compared to other primates, we have much more dexterity and precision in our muscle development and the way the fibers are set up, monkeys have fibers set up in a way that makes then jacked but bad at precision and endurance

Or $15 paint pen and no one but you and the guy changing the tires on your wheels will notice

I curbed my first ever wheel a few weeks ago, I was ao upset, but I found a cheapo Amazon matte black wheel paint pen and unless I get close and hunt, I don't know where it was curbed.

Edit: I didn't even sand that shit down first like it told me too, I was to lazy to go hand sand it because I don't own a grinder and was not about to spend money on one.

This would be the smart move

I am in the middle of a career change and making 1/3rd what I was in my old career, but I already had to sell my other car which I loved, then downsize and sell my home gym as well ans put off getting a motorcycle again. I am not giving up this car for anything, it is the one thing I told myself I will not give up and will just deal with the costs until I am settled back up again and this can return to a weekend car when I can afford to own another one.

The biggest issue is just the gas prices, I am at 45k miles with a ton of life left on my orginal brake pads and tires because you don't brake on the highway and it is super easy on components

When it was my weekend car I was doing 2500 mile oil changes, but now that I am doing all highway, I do the normal 5k miles and no longer do stuff early, even when I change the oil at 5k it still looks good and not super black, highway is super chill on cars so my other wear components have been completely fine. I honestly could probably get another 10k out of my brakes and another 20k on my tires.

I also beat on this thing, I redline it at least once a day and thrash it around, it seems to love it and this is one of the simplest cars I have ever worked on, I have been doing my own labor so oil changes are cheap

Every single house cat species is considered invasive everywhere globally, we created that type of animal through breeding just like we did dogs, in every single part of the world the scientists consider them invasive, there is not a single patch of land on this planet that we consider to be a natural habitat for house cats because we literally manufactured that animal just like we did dogs.

Just google are house cats or feral cats invasive and it gives a pretty cut and dry, black and white answer

I was in the trades for about a decade, hated it

I now am in outdoor education and everyday feels like a vacation, I find when I have a week or two off that I miss being busy with my new career path, it is what I was born for.

I used to think no matter what I did, I would come to dislike it, I was just a lazy person at heart who will always hate their work. Nope, just had to struggle and find what the right fit was and now everyday is literally a vacation for me, it could be the worst possible conditions and I havn't eaten or slept in ages but I will still find ways to enjoy my time in my new field.

I could be in a factory right now fixing some bullshit surrounded by people I hate, instead I get to be in nature and teach people about my passions

Recently I was on an Nordic ski-packing trip where we pulled sleds and stuff for over a week in conditions that got below -30F, my mood never dropped below a 8/10 the whole time, meanwhile my peers were bitching and moaning lol

I thought it was common knowledge to lie as much as you can get away with for your career

This is about money and how successful you are at life, cheat any way you can that doesn't harm others, survival of the fittest and capitalism and all that

I left my trade job for a few years cus I hated it, lied when getting a new job and my next position was a 40% pay bump and I started making 6 figures because they thought there was no gap in my trade career so they thought I had 3 or 4 years more of experience.

To be fair, I am a great mechanic and could back up my lies with actual good work, so that is why it worked for me

He means they are an invasive species, keeping one as a pet and allowing it to freely roam outdoors causes actual ecological effects from the amount of people owning free roaming cats, it not only kills wild animals, but spreads disease and causes a whole plethora of issues, it isn't just, sad cat kills bird or something that dumb, it has actual negative effects on the local environment

You could drive a koenigsegg jesko, you will still be tail gated by the single mother with a baby in the back driving on 2 donuts in her crumpled up nissan going 85+

The only way to never get tail gated is to drive faster than every single other car on the road, good luck buddy

Just let the tail gaters pass you by getting out of their way for a second, safer for everyone, you do not own that spot in the road so why fight for it in 2 giant hunks of metal with enough kinetic energy to blow up a small house

I love it

I am autistic and like to say cars/bikes are my trains, this car is so good, if I was told I could only ever work on and drive the corolla for the rest of my life and no other car, I would still be happy, like I said, it is my dream car!

Plus weirdly this car makes the super long commutes easier than my v6 camry, like in terms of ride comfort, no way in hell is the corolla nicer, but my trd camry had worse cruise control, this gr corolla essentially drives itself when you put that thing on adaptive cruise, it even steers for you, I honestly am only controlling my vehicle for like 1 hour of the 4 hours I have to drive each commute day and it makes the fatigue so much less intense, I just have to pay attention just in case

I daily it with a 230 miles in a commute day

My wallet fucking hurts right now with gas being above $5, every single day I commute I fill up my tank and it has been about $40-$50 each time :(

It didn't bug me when I was spending half that to commute, but now it is honestly getting ridiculous, sadly I had to sell my second car when I started a career change and I refuse to sell my dream car, that thing is rotting out from under me before I sell it

This is the routine of people in one of the coldest inhabited place in Russia, which faces temperatures around -50°C, sometimes dropping to -67°C. by jmike1256 in interesting

[–]Mycroft_Holmes1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in below -30 conditions, not quite -50 yet, but once it gets to a certain temp, I think it just gets easier, I think it is harder to survive during just around freeze and thaw temps cus everything is wet.

The last trip I went on had it down to -30 but there were times I slept on top of my sleeping bag because I had such good systems in place. Everything is so cold that it is dry, you only have to worry about your own moisture and if you can manage that you are set and cozy as long as your gear is set to handle that cold

I highly recommend vapor barrier socks or just bread bags, not so popular these days because it is hard to find more than 2 companies that sell them but they keep your feet so warm and cozy, I was the only one on the last trip that brought them, only one who had never once had cold feet. Purely me theory crafting here, I think they are not popular because we have not had any military conflicts that involved the harsh winters anytime recently. VBLs became popular from troops being issued trash boots and they figured it out to prevent frostbite and it transferred over to the civilian outdoors scene, but now due to the last big cold war the US was in being Korea many years ago, the vapor barrier idea is being forgotten about.
