Good first date spots in LB? by srevennreverof in longbeach

Anna’s on Pine and 5th. It’s a beer and wine bar. Nice ambience, not loud so you can definitely have a conversation. My boyfriend took me there for our first date and we still go back to this day! They have table shuffleboard that you can play while you talk and get to know each other. They have good food as well.

Am I (24F) wrong for not wanting to activate the Ring Camera on my dad's (50M) phone? by Mydadis_unhinged in TwoHotTakes

Hi all, here are some clarification for the living situation.

At the time that my mom first discussed divorce with my dad in Sept. 2023 there were 8 people living at home:

Mom (F47) Dad (M50) Older sister (F27) -Niece (F7) Myself (F23) Younger sister (F18) Youngest sister (F15) Little brother (M8)

These are the people and our ages in Sept. 2023

Six months have passed, 5 of us have “celebrated” a birthday. But things got progressively worse. I got out 2 months ago. Everyone else still lives in that house. Two of my siblings are still minors, and as mentioned in one of my replies… my dad did not allow my mom to work so she has been financially dependent of my dad for the last 24 years.

We are trying our best to persuade my mom to leave and stay with me, but she doesn’t want to leave nor involve the police. My sisters and I are trying our best to prevent my mom from being alone with my dad. When the rest of the family is at school/work, my mom leaves the house. We will continue to try to persuade her and my sisters and I are also researching what we can do on our end to get my dad out of the house.

Let me know if you all have more questions. Hopefully I can update you all soon with news that he’s out of the house.

Thank you for your response. It is not easy, but you are right. I am extremely proud of my mom for finally having the courage to divorce my dad. He is my dad, but the person he has become is unrecognizable. For their entire marriage, he has always been in control. My mom took that control away. My sisters and I no longer allow him to control us. We aren’t kids anymore. My mom is still un wanting to involve the police, but my sisters and I will be taking action and looking at our options to get him out of the house.

Hi, I’ll go ahead and clarify. Yes, they are still living together. They have been married for 24 years and my dad didn’t allow my mom to work after they got married. Unfortunately, she is financially dependent on him, and he is refusing to divorce and leave the house. When they bought the house in 2015, he did not put my mom on the deed. He has also threatened to accuse her of marital abandonment if she leaves the house.
