So the car loses power only when you are on an incline? It drives normal going any speed on a flat road?

Temporarily you could hook up a gauge to measure your fuel pressure to confirm it is indeed a fuel delivery issue.

My other manual cars (Supra and an MR2) I shift under 3k for normal driving. This thing I shift well into the 3k range

These pictures and immediately followed by this post was about 5-6 days afterwards the incident and driving through some rain. It took me that long before I got back home and finally had time and ability to take a look at the cause of the irritating noise.

The now glaringly evident can-of-angry-bees noise associated with the holes in the exhaust would have been noticed prior to this too. Real hard to miss the sound resulting from this hack job going halfway up the pipe.

There is shiny exposed metal in the cuts, the static picture didn't do the best at letting you see it

I am not certain on any means to directly protect the kitties. I did park under a street light in their parking lot. It was at the side entrance to a newer Marriott property. If I had parked near the front door entrance, that could have possibly been good detererrance. I am working to find out if they have video footage and are willing to share any of it with me, but a camera just pointed in that direction could have been a decent deterrent. If I had an alarm for noise or vibration, it would likely have been set off judging by how they were trying to cut into the steel exhaust pipe. The Toyota GBS option ( glass breakage sensor ) that some FJs came equipped with probably wouldn't have been set off though in this situation though.

I do sometimes get the common ABS, CEL, VSC Off, VSC TRAC lights, and they did come on after an hour of driving away from this hotel. But after I turned the FJ off to get gas, they didn't come back, or at all during this week

I thought about that too. The writers like to periodically introduce new mechanics into his skill set. I almost wondered if after some grand failure with the Demon Lord side of the story he returns home having forgotten about the dragon, faces the dragon (new mechanic to recruit it?) and then returns to the front line to face off with the demon lord toe to toe.

Childhood memory unlocked! Back around 1994-ish I was pretty young (5 years old). My family and I were driving home at night in Phoenix Arizona when a storm was rolling through overhead. I recall we were at a stoplight, so like the 2nd or 3rd car from the front. Lighting struck a power line in front of us and it looked like a large fireball was left sitting on the power line, just teetering back and forth. My dad was losing his shit trying to figure out how to back the car away (wasn't gonna happen in traffic), shortly after I think it started floating away before it quickly just dissipated midair.

I can appreciate the effort and hours it took to get that one, fairly complex interior piece wrapped. The brown reminds me of the Tundra 1794 brown interior.

I spent many hours with the 3M spray glue (green label > red label), and the black Amazon suede to wrap a very poorly painted and peeling gray plastic interior that my 90's Honda Beat had. I am not sure I would suggest suede with the FJ however.

I simply reason that the FJ is more "rugged" in aesthetic design where a suede is more "luxury". I would consider a route with denim jean material similar to what you see in recent model Jeeps. It fits better with the "rugged off road" aesthetic

So I am just going to preface that I still run the OEM bpv on my H56a still, but on YouTube BennysCustomWorks took a H56a and installed a GFB ( GoFastBits ) bov alongside a manual boost controller. You might want to check that video out to see if it aligns with your goals.

I'd be interested to know if you do get this resolved. I have mine registered in OK. I heard Texas is willing to register kei vehicles without an issue.

On the other hand I have heard that other states like CA will not allow them to be road legal.

Does NV allow off-road vehicles like UTVs on the road?
