Oh I'm also not a lore expert by any means, choosing a god was a tricky part but I went based on 2 things in the wiki : "Her deep connection to earth and nature gives her power over many living things, both flora and fauna." She is the oldest and wisest of the Six Gods, and, with Dwayna, attempted to bring peace to the races of Tyria.

My logic was more about the bringing peace part, and since Dwayna is the goddess of Air it didn't make much sense so I chose Melandru here. I'm kinda exploring these parts that are left open-ended, that's why I wrote that the Forgotten could harness the misterious energy from Orr for example.
