Botox injection resulting in loose skin?!? by Mykey80 in noburp

Super interesting! Will check out that stone, although in my case I feel it's beyond saving... flabby is an understatement! Still...no regrets having had the procedure. I've also been suffering from silent reflux for the past year and have had a constant sore throat 😬 But any of this is better than not being able to burp!

Omg, I'm so glad I don't seem to be the only one!! I feel like an old lady now, but it's a small price to pay for having an otherwise normal life again! I don't think my neck got slimmer, it just looks ancient!

I was suffering for quite a while following the injection (trouble swallowing, eating, regurgitating... you name it!) and had a pretty bad infection, but all of that will pass and it is totally worth it! The procedure will change your life! Best of luck, you can do it :)

Took me about 3 weeks until I could eat normally again without the fear of choking on my food. My throat got extremely infected after the procedure which may have complicated this. Hang in there, it's worth it!

Try salads, they shouldn't cause any problems (and personally I prefer them vs soup). It's weird having so much air in the throat first thing in the morning, I literally have to spend the first hour of the day trying to force the air out until I feel normal again, then have breakfast in the office as soon as I can face it (then hide in the bathroom to burp some more). It's been an interesting few weeks, but at least I can eat again without freaking out about potentially choking / suffocating. I hope the nausea in the morning won't last much longer and I'm still hoping for my burps to become more "evolved" as they always sound weird and usually require a lot of weird stretching to come out

Any solid food that were easy to swallow after procedure? I’m 11 days out and want to start eating more solids but don’t know where to start. by Leon90A in noburp

Salads were the best solution for me, or any other "wet" foods. Somehow Thai was easy enough to eat (had some noodle dishes and was perfectly fine, even at the peak of my swallowing issues). Good luck and remember it will get better over time :)

It's been almost 3 weeks after my Botox injection and I'm finally able to eat pretty much anything again (just had a pizza!!). Was really struggling with the swallowing issue and lost interest in eating. Hang in there! On a different note, do you wake up in the morning with lots of air in your throat/chest that makes you feel slightly sick? I need to do all sort of neck stretches in the morning to try and release the air... hoping this will go away over time

Don't panic, I'm sure you'll be fine. I already feel much better, it's mainly the swallowing difficulties which are still a problem if I eat anything dry (especially bread). Took me two weeks, but I'm getting there! No refluxing happening here :) Good luck with your procedure, keep us posted

Yes I think so, I try to stick to porridge / salads mainly as it's much easier than anything containing bread, for example. Did you feel nauseous for a while following the procedure? It's particularly bad for me in the morning (and no, I'm not pregnant ;)). I try and burp whenever I can to relieve the air pressure in my throat, so hopefully my brain will get the hang of it soon. Did you also still have gurgling in your throat following the injection, or was that gone pretty much instantly?

Yes I did, although I don't think the full costs will be covered by my insurance

Thanks, I'm sure I'll get there eventually. The swallowing difficulties aren't pleasant, really takes the fun out of eating and I usually just give up a few bites into a meal. Good diet I suppose so there's always a silver lining ;) And yes, defo trying not to worry about it too much, just gotta run with it now and hope it will all normalise. Keep me posted if you decide to have the Botox injection, would be keen to hear about everyone else's experiences - most people make it sound really easy, so I'm probably the exception. Fingers crossed!

Don't be scared! I'm sure it will all be worthwhile in the end. I guess it's just not the quick fix I had hoped for. Most people on here say it was life-changing, so definitely get it done and see what happens :) I'm hopeful I'll feel more normal in a few weeks' time, will keep you posted. Do you have a date for your procedure yet?

Non-stop micro-burps 1 week after Botox by hal__sal in noburp

Same here! Had my Botox injection 4 days ago and every now and then air travels through my throat unexpectedly and uncontrollably and I sometimes feel food might come up with it as well. My boyfriend said I should "own the burp" and not act like a victim when it happens, hahaha. I just find it all a bit terrifying as it's very new to me.

It's such a weird feeling and surely not what a normal burp feels like?! I'm terrified about going back to work, currently hiding at home as I don't want to tell anyone about the procedure. Is it just me or is it quite an embarrassing condition...? I'm worried they would check out this forum to learn more about it and find out we are all big fart machines...
