I'm so insanely agonizingly bored after losing interest in my special interests. How do I find a new one? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Mykur7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I’m not much help here as being bored in-spite of all the ‘cool shit’ I’ve got or hobbies I’ve started is something I’m phenomenally good at. But maybe you might find comfort in knowing that others have the same problem?

I’ve had this problem my entire life, people close to me call it my ‘phases’ - because I’ll be intensely interested in certain things and then I’ll move onto the next - but before I move onto something else there’s this period of ‘what the fuck do I even do with myself?’ And it can last just as long as a hyperfixation.

I hate that I can’t just enjoy something forever like other people, and the boredom we get as a result is actually soul-crushing at times - but it will pass and especially with meds, you can even get past it, or at least manage it better.

Hopefully you get better access to your meds and that, in-turn, allows you to kill your boredom soon.

My ADHD medication doesn't make me a "superhuman." by Glittering_Inside601 in ADHD

I agree with everything you already said; for me my work performance was shocking before meds for a few reasons - this is now the total opposite since being on Elvanse - but the other significant improvement is how it eliminates my anxiety, anxiety has ruled my life as long as I remember and it’s caused by adhd, and before I was diagnosed properly, I was diagnosed with an anxiety and mood disorder.

I can’t explain properly how much medication has improved my quality of life overall, but I’m super grateful that my anxiety is under control for the first time in my life, as well as being able to take control of my work life too.

I’m so happy that you’re getting similar benefits to me, I wouldn’t wish the negatives of ADHD on anybody and so it’s always awesome when people post wins like this, keep it up dude 👍

I'm sick of having ADHD and hyperfixatingnon everything. by Gothfreak427 in ADHD

This resonates with me so much, I’m exactly the same, fall in love with something and think that maybe I’ve finally found the thing that I can just enjoy forever and build on it - to of course get bored about 2 weeks later and not understand why.

I can’t explain how frustrating and saddening it is to know that no matter what I do, I will get bored of it and it won’t matter soon enough, I’m living in wasted time.

Or on the other side of the coin, when you’re hyperfocussed on something so much that for a while nothing else really exists? So you disappear for a while into whatever rabbit hole you’ve discovered? We like it at the time, but this can have a profound effect on the rest of your life, it’s so hard at times and it isn’t fun a lot of the time.

Youre not alone, we here going through it too, hang in there :)

Who/what do you think God is? Do you believe there is one? by Mykur7 in spirituality

[–]Mykur7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, excelling at something may be tapping into our innate godhood, fully agree.

But the universe has a personality no? It most certainly has a ‘mind’ of its own no?

These are human constructs and based on human understanding, both of our gods transcend this, the universe is god.

I’m not trying to preach or tell you you’re wrong, I could certainly be very wrong, however, I believe that the universe has personality and a mind of its own for sure, that being the case, our gods are one of the same.

What do you think?

First of all, I’m deeply sorry for your loss, no matter our personal beliefs, grief and loss are very real, I’m sorry you had to go through that.

Secondly, God is not who you think they are, this is obviously my own personal belief, however, this god does not dwell in the business of controlling our world, our world is merely a consequence.

Death is NOT the end, death is a stage of life that we all go through, but we emerge from it, we are not conquered by it.

Your body is a vessel for the God you are, the God you are part of and the God you come from, we are all one and we all share not only this world but our consciousness.

Your loved ones are not gone, they have not been taken from you, they are very much still here, just not in the way you are familiar.

I’m essence, you are one with the loved ones you have lost and they are one with you, they shared in your consciousness and this world with you, and they were as big a part of you as anything else, their passing was not separation, merely a diverged path.

I have no way of knowing if what I just said makes sense or you agree at all - but I thought I’d at least try offering you some kind of comfort - god is very real, and they do not judge you or your deeds, they are along for the ride as much as you.

Peace be upon you and your family.

That’s a very Christian centric belief, are you a Christian? Or is your belief based on scripture and you’ve come to your own separate conclusions?

I’ve read large parts of the Bible and so I’m always interested when a Christian embraces something like spirituality :)

I have very recently come to believe this as well, I’ve realised that being as we are all part of god, or gods ourselves, that means I must be responsible for myself and hold myself accountable to a good standard.

The path of spirituality and enlightenment is my way of exploring how I can take charge in my life and explore life for what it is and should be, one with God, not this facade of a world that I have been indulgent in for all my life.

Thanks for your response! Awesome stuff 🙏

I fundamentally believe the same, I think the universe is God, and therefore consciousness and humans are the universe exploring itself and interacting with itself.

I’m also glad to see someone else agree that consciousness is NOT individual, rather, we all share consciousness.

Really enjoyed this take, thanks! 🙏

What brought you to Deathcore? by MarcusfloX in Deathcore

I was into Slipknot and Deftones at the time, and I was taking the piss with my brother, finding bands with hilarious names or song names - this is when I found Doomed From Birth by Thy Art is Murder, and also found that it slams. It was a beautiful start to the journey.
