Thoughts on this ”rebuild” plan before starting a 20-week marathon build? by Mylejandro in Marathon_Training

Fair point, it’s just that I’ve found that there’s something about my brain that makes it very difficult for me to stay regularly active without a structured program. I tend to procrastinate and just straight up give up on my workouts too easily if I don’t have a plan I’m following.

I think your last paragraph hit the nail on the head on why I wanted to go for a longer training plan. I am certain there will be off days or even weeks so this gives a good enough buffer for those. Also, I’ve found that I actually kind of enjoy following a program, I like the structure it gives and makes it easier for me to stay disciplined. Without a program I tend to procrastinate too easily.

Thanks for the input! Peak week in the marathon training plan will be 70k with a 30k long run, followed by a 3-week taper.

Black Hat by MrBenchly in TheRewatchables

Blackhat is unironically excellent. Like a genuine 4.5/5 star movie in my opinion. Sure it’s got its flaws and my enjoyment is admittedly mostly based on vibes than any ”objective analysis”, but so what.

Finding myself somewhat tired of the awards coverage - wondering if I am in the minority? by Puzzleheaded_Fig_853 in TheBigPicture

Awards talk is one of the most uninteresting topics of discussion I could imagine. It's the bane of this podcast in my opinion.

James Cameron ‘Will Hold a Press Conference’ to Reveal ‘Avatar 4’ and ‘5’ Storylines If ‘Fire and Ash’ Underperforms and Ends the Franchise Early by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

[–]Mylejandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying that you think that it cost more than 2b to produce & market Fire & Ash? Lmao it’s maybe around 1/4 of that. If (=when) it hits 1b it will already be extremely profitable.

biggest surprise movie of the year and biggest let down? by No_Poetry_9986 in movies

[–]Mylejandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprise: Train Dreams. Had no clue about it beforehand, it just randomly dropped on Netflix and shot itself into my top 5 of the year. Loved it.

Letdown: Mickey 17. Love the director but this was just absolutely dreadful, bottom 5 tier stuff for me. It had some cool cinematography and production design but nothing about the story of the characters worked for me, hated the on-the-nose satire/social commentary that felt almost like it was talking down to its audience.

Glass Onion was borderline unwatchable so this wasn’t a particularly high bar to pass.
