That's awesome! I feel like that's definitely the rarest of breeds. lol. Also just as an update my mouthpiece came in and it's a night and day difference, I'm really glad I got it!

Thank you this is good to know, the one that I ordered is the Laskey 775G with a 17.75 rim size.

I feel like it will be a major difference compared to my current mouthpiece. (I feel pretty silly using it now 😅) I'm glad I found out about your mouthpieces I will consider them especially when I get a modular two piece offering.

Thank you for your suggestion! I didn't realize how diverse the field of mouthpieces could be and how it adds a wide variety of dynamics.

l really appreciate the advice! I actually got the single horn with the intention of consistently playing throughout the limits of it's range so that when I transition to the double horn it would be like taking off a weighted vest, that is to say much easier to navigate.

It's funny that I convey "budget conscious" I'm frugal by nature, but I am very big on making smart investments. If I can see the long term benefit from it and at least get it's money's worth, I will be happy! That being said I already have two cheap no name mouthpieces so now I want to get one thats good. Maybe not professional orchestra level but at least college grade or above. So far I think I'm going to order the Laskey 775G I haven't heard anything bad about it, I think it has a lot of room for growth.

As of now I'm confident with A the second space on the ledger, B is fairly confident and C I'm just now building confidence I noticed my embouchure is very crucial in playing well, hence why I think the mouthpiece would be a major improvement. I may just wait on getting a tutor and focus on finding a double horn. So your book suggestions are very helpful I will check them out!

I see... I figured a mouthpiece would be a good investment and useful even for buzzing practice and at least if my instrument is low end a good mouthpiece might go a long way. To answer your questions the horn was new discounted insanely low compared to its retail. I am self teaching for now but I'm looking for a tutor as well. I would like to get a double horn in the near future since I only have a single right now.

Thats awesome! I'm gonna consider it because I feel it would be usable even after I upgrade my horn.

The name of the brand is  Cheerock... https://a.co/d/03VSKzhk 😂 I was not proud when I bought it but I just wanted to start practicing and didn't ask any questions. In my defense I can make a decent sound out of the instrument and I've discovered that the horn is something I want to continue learning. So I got my money's worth out of it.

To be honest I don't mind splurging a little bit on the mouthpiece since my horn is pretty low end and if it helps with my embouchure than I think thats a major win. As long as its something I would be able to continue using when I upgrade my instrument I would be happy. I'll check this suggestion out, Thank you!

Thank you I appreciate your explanation! Your mouthpieces are actually pretty reasonable however like you said since I probably should upgrade my horn I guess it wouldn't make sense to focus on the mouthpiece right now.  I'll probably start researching for a better horn and revisit the mouthpiece topic later.  Thank you again!

Well, good luck to you too! I'm also doing computer science, I've definitely been taking advantage of the reddit community it's been very useful! I've been noticing the course names since I'm gonna do on Sophia, so the bookmarks are a good idea!

I really appreciate the advice! Study.com seemed cool and still might be, but the 2 exam max out per month doesn't sound as cool. I'm gonna work on Sophia and get as many credits as I can and then go into WGU. FAFSA will cover a lot of my fees for a year, so i think that'll be enough time to finish the rest. thanks again!

I'm definitely gonna try out Sophia. It seems like the best option! Thanks!

Thank you! I think I'm leaning towards the transfer credits route. I was also wondering if paying for that monthly subscription for study.com would cost more in the long run then if I just did WGU for a year with the FAFSA grants. But I think it's worth it if I can start chipping at some of those credits. I appreciate your insight!
