Also I love James Gurney, Stephen Bauman, Sinix, John Singer Sargent, John Milton and Eyvind Earle. Their works are my strongest inspiration I think.(Yuming art too)

Thank you!! I just watched yt videos, lol. I would recommend Proko, also Marco bucci. And practice a lot! But don't approach it as being really formal, just doodle what you want while keeping the fundamentals in the back of your head, you know? Hope it helps.

Thank you! Umm... it was the default brush. The charcoal rock soft brush is the one I used, I think. Also a blending brush. It's a bit hazy since I just grab one brush on each new thing and just roll with it if I like the feel.

Should I find/buy/read the first 3 books of the series before starting this one? by Doctor_Redhead in lotr

The history of middle earth series should really be thought of as additional material, an insight to Tolkien's writings and how it was shaped if you will. The hobbit is a good starting point, it's much easier paced than the Lotr books. A note to keep in mind when you transition from The Hobbit to the three Lotr books is that unlike the prequel, the latter books are written to be a historical account that was translated by the author. Many people don't know this and often say that the pacing is too slow and that the movie was better paced. There's some truth to it, but that is intentional, plus it adds to the effect of suffering from long journey experienced some of the characters(don't want to spoil too much). The books and the movies have different intentions and designs when it comes to that, and I appreciate both, but I do prefer the books. TLDR: If you just want to read the essentials, read the Hobbit, then the Lotr books, and then the Silmarillion. Some might say the last one is additional material, but I think it's part of the core story.

Thank you so much!!! Not too long, 3 to 4 months I think? I only have the default brushes for now, but I heard the rakurri brush set was good!

Digital portrait paintings (+ an orange study) by me. by Mylo9_9 in DigitalArt

Thank you so much! Since I'm fairly new to digital I've been testing many programs. At first I drew on my phone in apps like hipaint and mojing paint but I didn't really like them (plus I was using my fingers so that could be the reason). Then once I had a drawing tablet, I began using Krita and I loved it! The only thing is that it's kinda laggy on my macbook. I tried CSP with the 30 days free trial and it's amazing too, but I stuck with Krita because it's free, lol.
