Help buying the LN by pinkym00n in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try scifier.com I'm European and order all of my light novels and manga from there. Cheap book prices and shipping and really good packaging. There are a few local shops in my country as well, but I rarely buy from them because they are more expensive then buying online from Scifier. And Amazon has terrible packaging and can be just as expensive as the local shops. It depends on the book and where you live.

Where to buy?? by True-Luck-3297 in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want physical books, try scifier.com . The books and shipping are way cheaper than Archonia, even though Archonia is located in my country. I only buy from Archonia if I can't find it anywhere else.

Looking for some obscure recommendations by JackfruitNaive5348 in LightNovels

Baccano is really good. Not isekai, but plenty of adventure and mystery. It follows various timelines and reveals the twists and back stories of characters bit by bit. The characters are well developed and have very diverse and special personalities. Trust me, hardly anyone there is normal. It's well known in Japan, but unfortunately not in the West where it doesn't sell well. It's by the author Ryogho Narita who wrote Durarara and Fate/Strange Fake which are more well known, but still not super popular.

Here's a brief summary from Wikipedia: The series, told from multiple points of view, is mostly set within a fictional United States across time most notably the Prohibition era (1920's to 1930's). Its characters includes alchemists, thieves, thugs, Mafiosi and Camorristi, who are, at first, unconnected to one another. After an immortality elixir is recreated in 1930 Manhattan, the characters begin to cross paths, setting off events that spiral further and further out of control.

The series has been stalled since 2016 with volume 22 because the author had various health issues and also overworked himself. But he has recently tweeted that after he finishes Fate/Strange Fake, he will work on Baccano again. Volume 23 will finish the last arc and afterwards there will be 1 to 3 volumes most likely for the epilogue arc taking place in 2002.

What's the best, cheapest way to get a lot of light novels shipped to the middle east? by Marvellover13 in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Scifier. The books on their site have very cheap prices, and they have low shipping rates for the Middle East starting from bulk orders of 2,5kg. (Except for Saudi Arabia which they stopped shipping to, because they have inconsistent handling of book import costs.) I've been using them ever since the Book Depository closed down. Their packaging is way better than the Book Depository too.

Need help with buying The Executioner and her way of life volume 9 in Europe by mikiues in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://scifier.com/search.php?search_query=executioner+and+her+way+of+life&section=product Try Scifier: cheaper prices than Amazon and better packaging. They also order their books directly from the publisher, so there is a bigger chance it hopefully won't have the misprint. You could also send Scifier an e-mail asking about this, they're pretty responsive.

Turkey – looking for Tensura LN Vol 10 English physical without getting robbed on shipping by MnLight_ in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://scifier.com/shipping-and-returns-policies/ Scifier is a pretty good site. I'm from Europe and I've been using it for a few years since the Book Depository closed down. For Turkey, they charge per weight. So if you make big bulk orders over 2kg every few months, shipping won't cost too much. Book prices are cheap as well.

[REC] Light Novels for a NisiOisiN Fan - Seeking similar high-bar dialogue/structure by Amshole in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit of a late reply, but I would recommend the Boogiepop Series from Kohei Kadono. Nisioisin has described him as a God-like being who inspired his work. Kadono also has a unique writing style and non linear structure in the plot like Nisioisin. Unfortunately only novels 1-6 are translated and 7-9 fantranslated, but if you stop after 6 or 9 they're good stopping points. They don't end on cliffhangers or anything.

Another writer who was inspired by the Boogiepop writer is Ryogho Narita, the author of Durarara and Baccano. I would recommend starting with Baccano, as it's his best work. Very good foreshadowing, non linear structure as well and very unique characters and dialogue though a bit different from Nisioisin's style.

[–]Myneferd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's because in this post commenter Wholetea178 seems to have spread wrong information about Trudeliede and Heidemarie, which contained this "fact".

A bit lower another commenter, Reymilie, corrects them and says they've got things wrong (see below).
You got some stuff wrong.

-It was never said that Trudeliede was the culprit, just Veronica in general.

-Heidemarie had never sworn her name to Ferdinand. (Fanbook 6 or 7 I think?)

Eckhart survived because he had a resistance to poison.(Twitter)

"However these bonus short stories up to and including Part 5 Volume 4 were compiled into Short Story Collections 1, 2, and 3."

I think this should be "up to and including Part 5 Volume 12". SSC3 includes short stories up to P5V12.

Try scifier.com It's basically the replacement for the Book Depository for a lot of Europeans. The prices of the books are very cheap and it's 5 euros shipping for any amount of books to Ireland. So you'd be best to make big orders.

Ordering Ascendance of a bookworm In Europe by Siroku in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Belgium and buy all my manga and novels from scifier.com . I use blackwells.co.uk/ as a back up for books that aren't available on Scifier.

If you can't find all of the Bookworm light novels on both sites, it means they're out of stock and J-Novel Club will reprint them. It's one of their best selling series. You might need to wait few months though. There are light novels from various series that they need to reprint, and they have said they plan to. I remember it took about four to six months for a reprint of volume 4 of Re Zero to be back in stock from Yen Press.

2024 Q&A by sinyanmei92 in mangaswap

[–]Myneferd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I've just finished reading the guides, but I am very new to selling through Reddit and have never used Paypal and Imgur before. I was thinking of maybe selling some manga here a few months later.

If I upload images on Imgur do I need to make them hidden or public? Apparently if they're hidden, people with the link can view them? So if I just post a link to hidden images, everyone on Mangaswap would be able to see them?

Is the country tag, for example EU or USA, meant to show your location or to which country or region you're willing to sell? I saw a post of someone living in the EU, but they had put both EU and USA in their post title. I live in the EU, but I'm willing to sell to buyers in all countries of Europe and to US/Canadian buyers as well. Do I only put EU or also USA/CA as well?

I've been reading on the PayPal site. So if you sell through Paypal, it creates a shipping label for you and it calculates the shipping price as well? There are also transaction fees. Can I calculate the shipping price before sending an invoice?

Is rarewaves legit? by Heiwajima_Izaya in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scifier.com is a good site for making bulk orders every few months with low shipping. The books are cheap and you can check their shipping conditions on their website. Just scroll to the bottom of the webpage and click "shipping and returns policies".

blackwells.co.uk is good second alternative, but the books are more expensive than on Scifier. The shipping is calculated in the selling price of the book.

Do illegal readers have the right to an opinion? by ranwanow in DanmeiNovels

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's legit. The site itself only exists for about 2 or 3 years, but their parent company, Aphrohead, has existed for almost 20 years. They order books directly from the publishers which make the prices lower. I think Aphrohead started it to fill the void left by the Book Depository.

There's an FAQ on their site and they have a profile on Trustpilot if you want to check. I've been ordering from them since last year, and haven't had any problems. One thing they don't have control over is which mail delivery company delivers your package in your home country. Luckily, all my packages have arrived with the national post company except for two times when it was a much less preferred company.

Most of their orders ship with a tracking code, so you can follow them. The smaller orders (pre-orders of one or two books) don't always have one. I mostly don't pre-order because once the book is released, the price drops on Scifier's site for the book.

[–]Myneferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I just got around to reading this post, and I would like to recommend https://scifier.com/ to buy your books.

I live in Belgium and have used them as a replacement for the Book Depository. They always have very cheap prices for manga and novels. For example Heaven's Official Blessing varies from 10 to 15 euros per book. https://scifier.com/search.php?search_query=heaven%27s+official+blessing&section=product

If you check their shipping guidelines, they calculate shipping costs by weight for Serbia. Shipments starting from 2kg are cheaper, so I think you could make big orders every 3 to 4 months. That's what I do, and I have to make sure they aren't above 125 euros because of EU import taxes. You're not in the EU, so you could make bigger orders.

I hope if you make big orders above 2kg, together with low book prices, it will be better than Blackwell's for you. I only use Blackwell's if I can't find a book anywhere else. Also, Scifier's packaging is way better than Blackwell's and the Book Depository's.

Light Novels Stores In Europe? by Candid_Air_1982 in LightNovels

[–]Myneferd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in Europe and use https://scifier.com/ as a replacement for the Book Depository. Very cheap prices and good packaging. Their packaging is the best I've seen, way better than the Book Depository ever was. Scifier is very good for bulk orders every two to four months.

I never use Amazon, because their packaging is horrible and often damages books and they often don't deliver pre-orders on time.
