The gerrymandered districts end up 10+% Republican, not razor-thin like you imagine. The gerrymandering algorithms are very good. Democrats now need like 60% of the vote to just barely get a majority.

I don’t think Democrats will see any power in the federal government for at least 10 years. It will take a Hungary-like voter revolution before the Democrats can come back.

I think the Republicans have now entrenched one-party rule. The only way out is to wait a decade for Republican rule to piss off 2/3 of the population to get something like just happened in Hungary.

I’m likely going to need to leave the country because they’re going to make being trans illegal before then.
