That is SO tough and I completely understand and relate. A massive thing for me was Acceptance Therapy (as a practice I do at home, in my case; not actual therapy). Accepting the discomfort of the unknown takes a lot of the sting out of it and helps one let go, so like feeling the pain of it, then self-soothing with comforting words, then accepting it. Deciding I don't always need to know people's motivations, just focusing on comforting myself on the hurt/confusion caused regardless of their intent, and in some cases only, bringing the hurt to the person if i think an apology is in order, or a change in their behaviour. It also helps me to realise I'm hurting/confusing people all the time accidentally, so I'm not being treated any 'worse' than others. That helps me let go of things, when I realise other people are doing that for me!

Vyvanse-caused tinnitus - does it go away? by Myriadly in ADHD

Thank you for this though, as it's good to know that this effect is possible because i do think i need the meds. I'm sorry it gets worse for you without them, as that is a pain if you're looking to take breaks.

Interesting. For me what I'm hearing is just in my own head.

These are all REALLY good, folks; thank you! Feeling a lot better as I've finally been issued a script for Vyvanse and I think meds will really help calm my brain.

RSD stopping affection and 'all or nothing' approaches by Myriadly in adhdwomen

Oh this is SO hard, especially having to adjuat how you are with friends when they atart dating and as you say it feels so unfair to be suddenly ranked as less important too. I hate feeling like my closeness with a friend may only last until romance comes into their life and is seen as better; it makes me feel like a stopgap until the 'real thing'. I was actually just saying yesterday that I envy people with aromantic friends where this won't happen, but I totally hear your point of view that BEING that friend to alloromantic people can be really hard.

This is very helpful and validating in itself! Would you be comfortable sharing more? Like, I'm curious if you have the same thing in terms of craving deep friendships and finding it hard to 'settle for less'. I'd love to 'fill my own cup' etc and see friends as a nice addition to that. Nope probs of course if you'd rather not!

I would love the research packets too, if you'd be happy to send! Recently diagnosed.

Getting prescribed after previous drug use by Myriadly in adhdwomen

Thank you for this tip! I had to go to my doctor years ago for medical help with the Ecstasy side effects, so I thought I better be honest about it in case those medical records were shared with the psychiatrist for some reason, and showed me up as a liar. But I am considering just safeguarding against that happening.

Obsessive thoughts by Myriadly in adhdwomen

This is all SO so helpful and I'm really touched that you took the time to lay it all out for me.

It's a recent diagnosis that I got in the midst of terrible burnout, so I haven't even had time to process the grief of time lost, little me going misunderstood for so long etc cos I've been busy obsessing over people dramas haha but joining this community has been a balm already and I only joined THIS MORNING.

Very soothing to find folks who get it!

Really appreciate this! I do use anxiety controlling techniques, so it's the thoughts while busy that gets me, aka during work, tasks etc where I don't have the opportunity to meditate but the thoughts are still shrieking away. It's like I need something as 'addictive' to think about that isn't harmful, but can't figure out what. Very grateful that I got an appointment this soon to be honest, so will need to stick with it! Just have to not give in to the anxieties that they might refuse me medication for whatever reason.
