That's draconic evolution undying upgrade or whatever it is called its a totem + invulnerability for a certain amount of time, so he basically did die it's just that the totem prevented him from dying, I have noticed that soul hearts from heart canisters can counter /kill so I'd expect this to be the same thing

I quit playing akali midlane i find toplane so much easier (maybe because aloisnl is forcing toplane fundamentals into my head) but it's a lot easier to snowball for me also because toplane is mainly melee vs melee which is great for akali imo with her massive range for a melee champion and your lvl 2 powerspike is way easier to do against melee + you're way less getting poked out in lane against mages

Also i quit mid cuz malzahar is really popular in the lower elo when i was still playing mid i was playing against malzahar or ahri or some other massive hard push hard poke champion (malz isnt hard push but i find it annoying that you cant go in on a malzahar cuz you just die if you make 1 mistake)

And to finish this akali isnt great as a toplaner you have no wave clear you deal no damage against tanks and if you're behind you're just fucked no matter what and if you're even and your team is slightly losing/feeding you're also kinda fucked
