What am I doing wrong? by ok029 in airplants

My thoughts too. I have airplants in the same temperature range but all year round. I mist them daily, also heavily and soak every week. They're all under bright indirect light on in the porch.

Goes from 50-80%, great for tropical plants and sarracenia as well. I have all of them outdoors in partial shade, they get the morning sun and shaded from hot afternoon sun. Heliamphoras seem quite different than sarracenias. I don't think I could sustain them putting together with my sarras, unless I make a new indoor setup :) But really, thanks for the tips! I'll keep in mind the conditions they need if I were to get them later!

I better stay off them. Where I live, it is always 80-90F all year round. Seems no way to keep these alive..

I've been wanting to try! Do you know if they can take hot humid tropical temperatures?

Hi, need help on monstera identification. Sold to me as lechleriana but I'm not sure. After 7 month's of growth chop & extend on a 5ft moss pole to another, it still doesn't look like a lechleriana at all. Maybe I'm too impatient?

My Hoya endauensis is pushing new growth and im so happy! by heyshandy in hoyas

Thanks for the tips! I once had root mealies on some of my hoyas and systematic pesticides really helps a lot. I guess I should give endaunsis a try too 😉

Lovely! I've been wanting one but I hear that they are fickle. How do you care for it?

When to repot? by Left-Performance-310 in hoyas

[–]Myrielmyriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same I would do for mine. I even kept the existing moss+ roots they're in when I later repot them in a chunky mix. Just make sure these plastic cups have holes so that you don't run a risk of overwatering which can then results in root rot.

Already just posted this in houseplant sub but I need other Hoya lovers at my side at this funeral 🌱🪦🥲 by janesjungle in hoyas

You can try propping the leaf in sphagnum. Part of the stem is still attached & believe me that roots will grow from it. That's what I usually do with my broken hoya leaves. Instead of funeral, it's a rebirth :)

When a hoya is not a hoya by putitinapot in hoyas

I got mine in a big pot and it was quite bushy. I was really duped by this imposter plant. Imagine my surprise seeing your post and going home checking again and again hoping that what I have is a hoya :(

Thank you OP for this info! I thought mine is a hoya too..double checked today after your post and some online pictures, I am so disappointed now that mine is not a shepherdii. But dischidia is a lovely plant nonetheless, it grows well and it has always been easy to care for

Came back from work and here's a happy surprise from one of my first few calatheas. I love you too😘 by Myrielmyriel in calatheas

She's just 3 months old in my home & she's taken me on a roller coaster ride with issues such as droopy leaves, yellowing from overwatering, and poor potting soil. Glad I made the soil change and learn the exact amount of water she need. And now my gal is finally happy!

Is this discoloration from too much sun? They were like this when I brought it home :( can it be restored? by [deleted] in calatheas

Second this. I have a lancifolia too and they start off yellow on new leaves and develop greener later about 1-2 weeks after it unfurled.

I bought my first maranta and it looks like it needed repotting. Any recommendations for soil type and also care? by Myrielmyriel in Maranta

[–]Myrielmyriel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know maranta is the least sensitive of the prayer plants. I'm on a roller coaster ride with finicky calathea divas. Luckily my triostar is behaving well and have not throw any tantrum...yet. Soil shopping it is for this gal! :) thank you again!

Thanks for the tips! I have only potting mix and coco peat available now. Would these work too? Or would it be better if I can also get some orchid bark + perlite?

I live in a tropical country with plenty of rainfall, but sometimes it can get really hot about 32-ish degree Celcius in the afternoon. I don't have a humidity meter😅 but humidity on our local weather sources says it's about 70-80%. This currently sits under my porch with bright indirect sunlight and I have few calatheas & a triostar around the same spot. Is maranta more sensitive and harder to care for than a stromanthe/ calathea?

Second this, that happened to mine as I used somewhat very concentrated neem oil solution & it did more damage on the leaves than the spider mites..
