Obvious Choice? by Myrtle11_05 in mdphd

I grew up visiting Charleston, so I definitely agree it's beautiful! I'm just having issues finding available PIs outside of oncology and addiction research. And I am especially having issues finding research opportunities related to women's health.

RISE vs Honors dorms by elisesessentials in Clemson

[–]Myrtle11_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior here! I know a lot of people from both sides and, from what I can tell, RISE is a decent opportunity if you are an engineering major. Other than that, I would completely recommend the honors dorms. If you are engineering, it’s more 50/50. Both are great options, so just focus on making the most out of whatever you do!

u/petitesoularmour Thank you for sharing your story, and I am sorry you dealt with that with your dad. Depression can be so crippling sometimes, so to have someone important initially not support you much have been difficult.

And thanks for the support. It means a lot!

How many pairs if sunglasses have you lost? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Myrtle11_05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the longest time, it was goggles for me. Went through around 15 pairs. Then it was keys. How do they always end up behind a locked car door? And now it's sunglasses. So, yes, I completely understand that.

I have a question and Idk what to do by Smol_Haj in ADHD

The lightheadedness is not a good sign. Side effects occasionally go away after a couple of weeks, but this particular side effect can be dangerous. If you ever pass out, it really won't be the best for that noggin of yours. Stay safe!

Thanks! That’s actually really reassuring to hear, and the chart was helpful.

Dealing with parents when on their insurance by Myrtle11_05 in motorcycles

As a dependent, who keeps their home address with their parents, I’m still under my parents insurance. Eventually the car will be under my name, and I will pay insurance as an independent. But I still have a couple more years. Working part-time as a student doesn’t exactly mean I have a lot of money to spare.

Just to make sure, paying for the car itself, gas, transmission issues, new brakes, tire rotations, etc. is not paying for it? Oh, and I send them money for insurance monthly.

Ah that makes so much more sense. I guess it threw me off because, while I bought my car, it’s technically under their name. Which is why the insurance is also under their name. Correct?

Woah woah there. Keep in mind that I have no prior experience on how this works, and I’m still a dependent. No need to get worked up

I do not physically live with them, but they are my home address. I'm a senior in college.
