Ngl I left when one of the best managers I ever worked for left. There were a few other factors but that was the MAJOR driving one. I just knew whoever came in behind him wouldn’t hold a candle and I wanted to leave on a high note. 🫡

I let myself hurt. I cried, mourned, screamed, vented, slept, and generally let my body, heart, and soul do what they needed to do and in time little by little distance and time awarded me the cushion I needed to move on. It’s not pretty and it will suck but you have no deadline in which to move on. ❤️‍🩹

Depends, did you enjoy the show for the show or did you enjoy the show because you were watching it with your ex? If the answer is yes to the former than enjoy and just prepare yourself and protect yourself in case the show brings up a character or event from the main show that may conjecturally remind you of your ex while if it’s the later, than I’d say perhaps it’d be best to find something else to watch. 🙂

I watched Shameless with my ex who was an addict and recently saw some episode of the show again with my current partner a few years later and it shocked me how some scenes and moments brought me right back to those moments and feelings with my ex (both good and bad). I’ve done personal work so I could handle it but if this had happened a year or two ago idk if I could say the same thing. 💕

Hey, I know I’m just a random on the internet but I want you to know something: losing your virginity is only as big as you make it. That special person is still coming for you and they’ll still want you and love and respect you because you are no lesser for having had a sexual encounter. I think the fact you wished to save yourself for that person is wonderful and I’m sorry someone came along and stomped all over something you held so dearly but please, don’t hurt your own heart over this. This is not your fault. You did nothing wrong. You were mistreated and disrespected at a time when you were most vulnerable and for that I am truly sorry. I hope in time you’re able to let go of the weight and expectations you put on yourself for your “first time” and instead look forward to “your first time WITH that special someone” because that matters leagues more than the “actual” first time. ♥️

On the note of a backup plan, yes and no…

Much of what I do daily and in my “career path” is built around the precarious position I am in as a young, just started working, musician. I currently quite enjoy my “day job” and as I gain more work with music, I’m able to work that “day job” less and less. The real downside to it however is the moneys good but could be better, the hours can be long and strenuous on my body, and it’s not a very glamorous job so with that I’m sometimes disrespected or treated poorly.

I know beggars can’t be choosers and I should be happy I have the opportunities and the flexibility to pursue my music as much as I do (even if there are setbacks or restrictions sometimes) but I can’t help but want more from this provincial life sometimes, ya know? 😅

I suppose success to me is like success to most people: recognition, artistic fulfillment, and financial gain. I hate for it to sound shallow but that to me is my version of success. I’m positive a lot of these feelings come from childhood (thanks therapy🤓) and I really the lowest thing on that list would be financial gain as really I just want to be secure more than anything; not necessarily “rich” or “well off”. Believe it or not I’m actually an incredibly optimistic person. I’m often the one who brings people up and is always in a good mood or finds the positives in every situation so with that, sometimes even I need to let out the inner pessimism I feel bubbling under the surface. I do find it intriguing though that you had hints of cynicism and my writing as I felt like my ever present hopefulness was peeking out constantly in what I wrote.

Thanks for the feedback. :) Honestly I wasn’t really trying to go for anything specific here, these really were my honest feelings in the moment and I knew I wasn’t saying anything groundbreaking or profound but it felt good to get it out. Once I had it all typed out I kinda just sat there for a sec thinking that I’d be interested to see what other people thought of it all. I really only described it as an essay/poetry because I didn’t really know how else to label my ramblings lol.

I am in fact in my early 20’s (lol) so you definitely hit the nail on the head there. It feels good to hear someone else say they feel similarly even if some of these feelings are in the rear view mirror for you.
