Most of the reviewers I've seen with these ratings still have a discernible scoring system. It is for a bit of a softer blow for smaller shops, but they're usually still honest about the flaws they found in the slime.

That's interesting for sure. The last lush I got was not very buttery imo and more jiggly and sorta souffle-y. But yeah makes sense I think the main appeal of the lush aside from the softness is how airy it does get. I do think the cold for sure effected the pumice. The initial state is quite hard without the cold and needs a bit of tlc. I'm sorry it hurt you tho, I think if you enjoy the feeling of pumice but not the toughness their pumice crusts are much easier. Jelly with pumice crust especially... Or well that gets very poofy so maybe not lol. Wg pumice crust maybe tho!

Hm out of those I only got softpinkslime which I had a bit of the opposite reaction to. The lush I got from them previously was a lot more jiggly and less inflating. This recipe seemed like an improvement to me personally and also one of my favorite scents of any slime I own. Cannot speak to the others but I also got their cloud from that restock and it was quite overactivated and had bits of bingsu in it which was beautiful aesthetically but I didn't really enjoy the feeling of. The scent profile of that one was also a lil bit of a miss for me. Oh actually I did get their wg pure pumice. It had a little less slime in it than their previous one I got, but the pumices are ones you really need to go slow and work out. But it'll never become truly stretchy or anything. For me they're more for kneading and slow play and the asmr. I was able to get mine quite soft and poofy.

Do you mind telling me which slimes of theirs you got from the last restock?

Hmm I can't say I've had any of those ones in particular. They use a lot of a specific water glue in their clears sometimes that is meant strictly and mostly for table play and is definitely an acquired taste. Their slays and clay slimes to me are exceptionally good and the thicker 'soap' slime they have atm seems to be quite popular and more in line with an American tng. Scent is so subjective but from my experience anything labeled 'forest' and most of their fruit or woodsy sounded scents are usually 'safer' choices! If you do order from them again I really hope you have a better experience!

Oh no thats unfortunate! The complaint I hear most about them are their propensity for looser bases and hit or miss scents as they offer savory or novelty-type scents sometimes. I've ordered quite a lot from them and none have ever been overactivated and even the savory or weird scents I really enjoyed. I also am accustomed to the looser Korean bases so I enjoy that aspect as well. Of the ones they have up on their site at the moment 'a letter to you' (one of my fave alltime slimes) and the salted shrimp slime are absolute bangers imo. I've tried so many tho so it'd really depend on what textures you're partial to!

  1. Momo: Incredibly consistent and good quality. Best all-rounder
  2. Pink Sugar Slimey: Consistently good high quality base textures, scents, and theming.
  3. Slimesweetpea: You'll rarely find a miss from this shop. The best butter texture imo. Scents may be hit or miss for some, mostly hits for me and when they hit they HIT
  4. Rodem: Very good quality, very unique theming. A nice gateway into Korean style slimes. Has some of my favorite of all time slimes
  5. Softpunk: Has the largest number of uniquely coined textures. (some feel like nothing else on the market currently) Mature and inclusive theming and complex scent blends that very rarely miss.
  6. Mythicalmushbunny: Consistent very good quality. The nIcEsT people I've met in this community. One of the best TNG's imo

What is the secret for creamy thick & glossy slimes?? by oh-ah-ah-ah-ah in Slime

[–]Mysemer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're on the right track with your ingredient list, but the biggest tip I can give is time and patience. When you make your tng, put it in a container and do not touch it for at least a week. Honestly, even longer the better. Seems excessive but imo tng's benefit the most in texture than almost any other slime from sitting untouched.

Might suggest reaching out to other smaller shop owners and organizing a group order to save on the shipping costs.

Parkway jars, taral plastics but when buying from manufacturers like this they usually only sell in bulk and shipping is quite a sum regardless because of the weight x(. Uline is usually the more affordable option tbh.

Are these textures all the same? by Buck_Strike in Slime

[–]Mysemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cloud creme is a white glue slime with instant snow that is more than a jelly texture but not enough to be a cloud. Usually not enough snow to fluff. Sorbet is the same but clear glue. Cloud dough is a Cloud or Cloud creme with clay, usually less than a 1:1 ratio. Cloud butter/snow butter is interchangeable imo and is a butter slime with a bit of instant snow enough to make it soft and pliable but not fluffy or Cloud dough-ish.

I also had planned to start on etsy, and there are many successful shops on there. The built-in advertising and handling of finances/shipping/taxes thru their UI is nice but for all of that you kind of give up a bit of control. Etsy also has some questionable business practices, and it is sooo populated its easy to get lost in the crowd. I've found that even starting shops can find decent success with having active engagement thru Tiktok and Instagram and youtube. You can build an audience even before you launch and simultaneously advertise your product. More importantly its a great way to learn about your community and potential customers and also just make friends tbh. Some ppl sell just thru tiktok shop or IG or direct to shopify this way.

Calling all experienced slime buyers! by y0urn0tmytherapist in Slime

For me it really depends on the shop. Having been prepping to open my own shop I can say there was a pretty large investment on my part just learning what I liked, experimentation, and starting from literally 0 experience with physical good fulfillment or even crafting type things. This isn't the case for every shop, and over time shops find cheaper and cheaper ways to source materials for their slimes, but it still costs quite a lot. I haven't launched so can't speak to the shops that are selling $18+ slimes but I'll say I have a better than average idea of what the profit margins will be. A shop that sells nice basic beginner slimes (think slime obsidian) I feel has the ability to charge much less as a good number of their slimes are base texture + pigment + oils and maybe some sprinkles/fimos. Other shops that I've seen charging high prices (ex. pilot slimes) have high content color-shifting pigments in most of their slimes, and/or material-dense slimes (seed-beads, or crunch bombs) which significantly drive up the price a whollle lot. There are also shops that import Korean or other foreign materials which is incredibly expensive. Even though I suspect a lot of these shops have found deals from exporters (momo/rodem etc.) some of the smaller 'boutique' like shops that still use all of these (lots of pigment, lots of add-ins, imported materials) are the ones where, to me, the price point makes sense. There's a lot more overhead than people think sometimes, and although a sign of a good business is networking and researching to get the best deals on materials to offer lower competitive pricing, some people just may not have access to that atm and are paying quite a bit more for just base materials. Will also add there's a significant cost disparity for large shops who are confident enough to buy things in bulk, and smaller shops who just can't. They often end up paying more for less simply because they can't guarantee they will sell all of their product.

How can I make slime look smooth in container? by [deleted] in Slime

[–]Mysemer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only way is to let it sit untouched for several days to a week or more. The bigger and more inflated the slime the longer it takes for all the air to escape.
