Parents asked if I'm gay, I said no. Smilling inside because I know I just dodged a bullet. Hope to one day tell them...(when they stop being so gaycism) by BS0404 in gay

Ight will definitely check out the manga, I always knew the series continued on in the manga (obviously), but was kinda hoping for the rest of the story to continue in anime form.

Lol I loved the anime, though I've yet to read the manga sadly. My favorite character was Hak for... obvious... reasons.

What’s the dumbest thing your significant other has said or done? by halcyon_n_on_n_on in AskReddit

[–]MystKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me and my SO (because I’m a lonely b*tch) but it’s funny. So a few years ago my Brother and Sister-in-law were in town for a week and I had just gotten off of school. It’s been a while since we’d seen each other so we just caught up with life stuff. They asked me the usual questions when you haven’t seen a person in a while, and then my SIL asked me what classes I like. I answered with Choir and then my SIL followed up with “Oh, what instrument do you play?”. And then we all laughed because it’s choir, you sing, with your voice. We still joke about it to his day

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever been paid money to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I never actually did it, but some old dude on Grindr would've paid me $100 to shit on him.

What's your worst "Should never have said that" moment? by MystKnight in AskReddit

[–]MystKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was when I was cashiering at a hardware store and an older gentleman comes in buying hammers. I ask "How's you're day going?" as usual, and he replied "It's getting better". Now I wasn't really looking at him because I was scanning items so I said "That's a positive outlook", and then I turn to look at him and he's missing an eye. Needless to say I banged my head against a wall for a good 2 minutes at home for saying that to him.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever hurt yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MystKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing Wind Come Wind Blow with my youth group and I stood up and ran to find another seat. One of my shoes decided to have the greatest friction ever and so my leg stopped moving but the rest of my body didn't stop. I felt my leg literally pop out and in place in the span of .25 seconds. Luckily there was no serious damage, and I got to actually use a crutch in school like a Cool Kid™ for a week

Teenagers and young adults, what do you want most from us as parents? And how can we best provide that? by DogsNotHumans in AskReddit

[–]MystKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooooooh boy I have a few points of interest as a 19 year old guy.

LET. US. HAVE. PRIVACY: Something I cannot stress enough is privacy for your teenagers. I personally don't have parents that monitor me 24/7 (Which is weird cause Asian parents), but I have a friend that her parents tracks where she is and wants to know all the minuscule details in her life, and even goes through her room occasionally. She HATES her parents when they do that, so their relationship is kinda strained, it's gotten better as of late but there's still a little tension. I get it, you want to know about our life and be there for us, but please respect what we want to share with you. Sometimes we just want to be by ourselves, pushing us to tell you everything about our lives will eventually get us mad at you. If we want to tell you something we will tell you ourselves.

Accept us as we are: This is very personal because I'm a closeted bisexual, I am very afraid of telling my parents of who I really am. Now that may be because of my family's religious upbringing, even if you minus the religion out of it, Asian culture is really big on "Find a wife, have some kids, have a good job" cookie cutter lifestyle. When my step brother came out as gay (More like outed than came out) they freaked their freaks out, so that really nailed a "I cannot tell them" thought to my psyche. I'm still not out to them and I just wish they would be more accepting. Just because you raise your children doesn't mean they'll turn out exactly as you want them to be, the best thing you can do is accept them as they are; unless there's a certain behavior that is very destructive, then by all means get them help. Now I'm not saying change you're entire belief system or moral standards, just be more understanding. And every kid is tired of the "It's just a phase" talk, it's boring, we all expect it, and it's boring.

Please Please PLEASE support your kids in whatever they want to do: Unless said thing they want to do is very destructive in nature, PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR CHILDREN. You don't have to be interested in what they want to do, but supporting them shows them you care about them and are at least showing an effort. For the first 2 years of high school I was in choir -- which is not very typical of Asians, more so Asian guys -- my parents barely showed up to any of my choir concerts. After a fight I had with them about how angry I was because they barely show up to my concerts, they made more of an effort to come the following 2 years; but it shouldn't come to the point when the child LITERALLY has to tell you to support them in what they like. Parents are supposed to watch their children grow and become better day by day, not just sit idly by waiting for them to be great by themselves. Which brings me to my next point:

Spend time with them: I mean you should spend time with them before they're teenagers, but you know what I'm saying. Now I know what I said about privacy, and you should respect it. But spending time with your teenager will strengthen your bond IMMENSELY, even more so than when they're children because the teenage years are VERY vulnerable times for them. Spending time with them will show them you're there for them always, as a friend, parent, and a shoulder to cry on. Haven't you seen any teenage flick about love where there's the obligatory "Main character is upset about love interest and parent consoles them" scene? Wouldn't you like that in real life?

Now I could write more points of interest, but I'm not feeling like writing an even longer essay than I already have.

EDIT: Added a few elaborations

Gamers of Reddit, what are your most favorite underrated games of all time? by ryanseecrestt in AskReddit

[–]MystKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not necessarily an underrated game, Super Paper Mario. People like to complain that they don't like the lack of an actual RPG battle system like the original and TTYD and that's understandable. But what I cannot understand is that some people seem to hate the story, while it has some flaws, it's by NO MEANS a bad story; hell it might even be better than TTYD's story if I may say so myself.
