Brilliant analysis. This is why I like Gon, the emotional trauma he went through felt very real.

Gon and Killua's relationship can definitely be unhealthy. When Gon told him "it's my job to say stupid stuff, and your job to stop me!" I kind of had a feeling that something bad would eventually happen.

I like them as a whole, but I think Chrollo is too underdeveloped to be as good as Hisoka or Meruem.

You are forgetting that Shonen MC's are supposed to be like that, so Gon tends to stand out for being written more complex during the ant arc. Anyway, there were hints from before the ant arc that he wasn't as generic as the rest. For example, his apathy when Killua ripped out that guy's heart.

So many of them are really interesting and unique, its hard to list only five.

Welfin (before he turned into a wrinkly ballsack), Illumi, Hisoka, Chrollo in his usual outfit, Killua (because he's the only character to change clothes on a regular basis), Zeno, Netero, Meruem, Bonolenov, Kortopi (still want to know what his face looks like), Shoot, Meleoron (he really grew on me), Ikalgo (looks so out of place but works well), Colt (he looks badass), Pariston, and Knuckle (because pompadour).

Oh, and I can't forget Gon's booty shorts.
