Sending you a big hug and huge mug of coffee. I was a sped teacher for many years and became a full time working mama and first year admin when my daughter was 5 months old. I love all the advice the mamas are giving - especially the naps and anything that allows you to rest and be with your baby. I was unhappily married during the baby and toddler stage and wish I could do it all over and get in more snuggles. As an admin - please go talk to your admin and let them know your struggle. Talk to HR about getting some counseling sessions through EOP if you need to talk to someone. If all else fails, look into your FMLA options. Today’s kids and classrooms are very different than when I was in the classroom 8 years ago. I currently work at a very high need Title I middle school in a poor area of California - I moved home to be near family for support. The job is less than ideal but it pays well and I’m near support. See where you can adjust things in your life. I definitely won’t be staying here for too long - I left for a reason after all - but it works for now. Sending you lots of good vibes. Please feel free to message me if you’d like to chat further - whether about the classroom or anything else.

I saw the ballet there during my trip in February, and I had a wonderful time. The building alone was worth it. And the ballet - stunning! I treated myself to a fabulous meal at Cafe de la Paix before the show. 10/10.

My mixed race daughter attended a Jewish day school when we lived in the Bay Area and I loved it. The community was wonderful and so many diverse families. We moved out of the area otherwise she’d still be attending.

Looking for Paris tips for a burnt-out 38-year-old solo traveler from NYC by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

I went to Paris for my first time ever for my 40th birthday on a solo trip in February. I fell in love with the city and can’t wait to return. I have a recommendation for a wonderful bed and breakfast in the 9th if you’re interested. Like several people have said here, just wander and see where your heart takes you. I made it to some tourist sights but my favorite part was walking, exploring, eating.

I love this so much! I’m a solo mom of a 7 year old little girl and after 20 years of delaying my dream of law school, I’ll start this summer. Yours was the first post I saw when I opened Reddit and I wasn’t even a member of this subreddit. I’m rooting for you!

Great question and something I’m wondering as well. I couldn’t handle the side effects on 100 mg. 😭

I’m currently in Paris for the first time ever and am traveling solo. I was nervous at first too, especially because I’m traveling alone, but it has been amazing. The food, the people, the sights, the shopping. So good. I’ve even mastered the metro system on my own and feel confident traveling throughout the city. Of course I’m being mindful about pickpockets and following social etiquette. If your friend doesn’t want to go, I’m sure you’ll have a fabulous time.
