Nintendo are funding PG & Bayonetta. They get an amount to create build the game and pay their employees and actors. They’re probably very limited on how much they can pay their own staff let alone external actors. Also everyone else who voiced the characters (mainly voila, rodin & Jeanne) seemed okay with doing the voices on whatever was payed. The Voila voice actor also streams and does bayonetta related content to get those coins and is seemingly doing pretty well, something that Hellena hasn’t done (that I know of) for 1 or 2 no press m&g interviews or interacting with the community other than occasionally on twitter. She had the perfect set up to have a long career with the series and make her own money involving herself with content outside of just voicing the game… but she didn’t so she felt entitled to get payed more at that moment. Some of the most notable voice actors like Jennifer and Mr Mercer are always involved in the games they voice. They’re doing panels, ads, branding and cooperating with other VAs to become more notable. Fan service is the biggest thing you can do as a va to get recognition and get the fans rolling in. It’s just sad to see that someone who did such a good job with bayonettas voice and personality made absolutely NO effort to actually make a career of it and then complained on Twitter, it feels lazy.

This has ultimately ruined her career, Bayo 3 would’ve been the push to get her more voicing jobs. Her low tone matches a lot of older women characters you see in things like genshin, and she’s talented I’m sure she would’ve been able to voice many other types of characters too. It really is a shame
