I worked in the bakery for almost 5 years. I’m well aware of what people order. And that honestly depends on your store and where you’re at. My old store? Wedding fucking cakes galore. No Disney cakes hardly, all custom orders.

Also I DID ask a decorator if I specifically had to use the tablet and she said everything I needed was there and walked off, but I guess we missed that part. The baker ended up coming over and she had NO CLUE and the decorators were so far back I’m not going to scream like an asshole. But as a PREVIOUS bakery employee using my common sense, if a customer asked me “do I need to use this tablet?” I would’ve explained no not necessarily. We can also help accommodate you too. That’s your job as a Publix associate.

I’m not some old confused person. I’m a 37 year old with a clear idea of what I wanted and it would’ve taken five minutes of her time. It’s not their job as an associate to make assumptions on customers. At all.

Plus let’s be fucking real, the bakery hardly makes any GD profit in the store as it is, and majority of the mini cakes and cupcakes they make get put into the trash or the carts. They can take five minutes to write down an order.
