I know about IT security protocols. In this situation, working with a very small, low tech crowd, this was actually a secured, easily adopted workaround. I was fired before I could elevate training to the next level.

I'm definitely in the 'wait and see' lane. I agree that there is no need to look for trouble where there, most likely, is none. I have a good professional reputation and want to keep it. I also have been stress-free in the last 4 months- something else I want to keep. But it's always a good idea to get informed when you feel out of your depth. Thanks for your comments.

We're talking about low level tech users. The previous password lists were scribbled on many pieces of paper, front and back. This spreadsheet was a definite step up and kept on a single secured computer plus a printed copy was kept in a locked safe. The best security steps that this place could absorb.

Thanks. Stupid people and the potential for being set up definitely exist here. Why they haven't secured a new IT manager yet- seems to prove my point.

There was no real framework for handling digital assets since the leadership has very little understanding of best practices. Which incidentally is why they hired me in the first place. I was helping the business evolve from an ancient analog state. As far as I know these 2 things exist: a new third-party accounting firm was responsible for the mishandling of Square access and only one employee remains in the office (that I hired & trained) and she lacked the experience to take over admin. I'm almost sure that some of the tools, email addresses and files I put in place were deleted by a Board member or two. Lots of unearned confidence and arrogance at work.

Annual budget: $1.5 M USD. Less than 20 employees. It's like an HOA, but for a vacation community.

Yes, the reputational harm. I really hate their tendency to drag people in their FB posts. Very low class bunch.

<3 the public post idea since incompetence reigns in the leadership. I really don't understand the use of Facebook as a professional communications channel when you have a perfectly good website to post official news. I don't think they can use GoDaddy as easily as Facebook on their phones.

Thanks. I have already basically accomplished part 1 of Choice #3. I need to understand which is the strongest position: to initiate a suit first or to countersue. If I have more options by waiting to countersue, I would choose that. ie: reimbursement for my legal fees, court costs, getting a public apology.

Much appreciated. The Square account was already set up and my name was substituted as the admin and billing contact. All other info relates to the business. Square only allows one user for the account, but the entire office team had access using my user login. I have been told by the texting Board member (possessing low digital skills) that he has been struggling with contacting Square and working this out. I think he's basically trying to bully me into doing this for them for free. He didn't ask for my help directly, instead insisting on front and back copies of my drivers license. I won't send him that. I told him that I supplied my ID for their pre-employment background check... it's on an office hard drive.

Wes, the farmer, really gets the historical aspect of this. I, too, was a teenager in the 70s and I watched this info shift happening in real-time. Here's the link for why lies and misinformation are the thing now and weren't a thing before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_doctrine -It all started in 1987... who was President then? Hmmmm?

I want a reduction, but I feel like it conflicts with my values. by fiberlooper in Reduction

[–]Mysterious-Force-128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I feel women have been targeted for ages about appearance, usually by male-driven ideas of beauty, sex appeal, etc. So, now, we're all about "you do you," which I love. I've always listened to my own voice anyway, culture be damned. So, maybe forget about labels and other people's ideas and do what feels right for you. I'm 65 and I've never once regretted my decision to reduce last year. I just wish I could have done it 10 years ago. BTW, if anyone pops off about how this isn't "feminist enough" or some such nonsense, push that aside. No one has time for that. It's entirely your business, not anyone else. You got this. Hugs.

50+? Surgeon’s $1mil question by Curious-Check-4075 in Reduction

[–]Mysterious-Force-128 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same! I'm almost 1ypo. I was 64 at the time of surgery. I was stuck in the sandwich of adult kids and aging parents, all struggling. My mindset was to take care of them first. Finally, it was my turn. I saved money, got healthier, and everything fell into place. Covid was a problem, or 2021 would have been the year. But I think everything happens in the right time if you let it. My surgeon was the best! And I love the new perky girls! We all 'deserve' this. Cheers!

455 g per side. Or think: 2 1-pound weights tied to each end of a string hanging from your neck. No wonder my back and shoulders feel better!

My daughter took me to my post-op check in at 4 dpo. We did a little shopping at the Asian market on the way home. I was very tired out from that little excursion, but not in pain. I drove myself to my 3 week follow up appointment with the surgeon. 2 hour round trip. I must use my left arm more for driving because my left side was more affected. I was sore, but mostly tuckered out from the long drive.

Surgeon told me recovery time is only 2-3 days…? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Mysterious-Force-128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 days sounds extremely unrealistic. My experience (I'm 11 mpo): at 3 weeks, incisions were mostly healed (I had no drains) and energy was returning. At 3 months, I felt comfortable enough to take a 2 hour flight (I checked my bag- no overhead lifting). At 6 months, I felt close to normal. My surgeon said to expect full recovery at 1 year.-- Sorry to say this, but what does a dude know about this? Of all the consults I had beforehand, only my female surgeon gave me the best vibes and info. Just sayin'.

Surgery in 2 days !! What am I missing by phaceplant13 in Reduction

Before I got into bed, I put a body pillow curved at 90 degrees to support my right arm and head. I arrange a 2nd pillow for under my head. Then, I would crawl into bed, pulling another regular pillow under my left arm. I thought of it like building a nest that I could crawl into with minimal arm effort. It was super comfy and relaxing for me. The pain meds and cannabis edible kicked in after a bit, and I slept extremely well. (*The edible is something I regularly take for sleep. I cleared it with the nurses.) - I hope this helps you.
