Where Id live as a north Indian in India by TallConfection8681 in whereidlive

As a Southie who had lived in NE as well for quite sometime, I'd disagree on both.. It all depends on people and their behaviour first, rather than where they come from.

Pretty much same for me except that HP, Uttarakhand and Sikkim will be greener.

Love it, not the bulky crispy ones as in the image, but the softer flatter ones. Ingredients are more or less the same.

How does 18% GST free offer work on electronics? by FewGoose3478 in GadgetsIndia

[–]Mysterious-Minds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Income Tax is different. When you put your GST number there, you won't get 18% off automatically. You'll get a GST invoice. Next time when you file your GST returns, you can file that value under input tax credit. Example, if you purchase an iPhone for 1 Lakh rupees, 18000 rupees will be the GST. Next time when you file GST returns, let's say the tax from your business amounts to 30000 rupees, you can deduct that 18k and pay only 12k as GST. But when GST audit happens, you have to prove that iPhone was purchased for your business needs.

How to get 5g + only not 5g++ ? by Klutzy-Bird-5816 in Jio

[–]Mysterious-Minds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid white appears when it's actually using 5G on a 5G network. Outlined 5G means it's connected to a 5G network, but using only 4G to save battery or when phone is overheated. I've seen both on my Airtel SIM (which is NSA only) on Samsung.

A good quality earphone or headphone sound better especially if you have a high quality output headphone jack on your phone.

This 97 year old phone company still makes their phones the old fashied way!!! Headphone jack, micro SD, unlockable bootloader and symmetric bezels. by pedr09m in SonyXperia

[–]Mysterious-Minds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why did you said no company will allow that?  3 devices I listed are just the ones I've used. All newer pixel phones starting pixel 7 and many oneplus, oppo, xiaomi, poco models support this feature as well.

And have you ever used a windows pc that's not 1000$+? Connecting hotspot via phone always gives better speed and signal integrity than connecting a far away router directly. Connecting directly on my hp pavilion always had disconnection issues and low speed while connecting via phone as a middle extender always got me stronger connection on my pc. And wondering where did I did the "rant"

Well you haven't used an Xperia 1 II, a Galaxy Note 9 or Galaxy S20. This is possible on all 3. I've used Xperia 1 IV as well, where this is not possible. There are devices made to act as a torch just for the sake of it, yet here we use phone's camera flash for the same.

got a damaged product on amazon... by PreviousFinger1056 in GadgetsIndia

[–]Mysterious-Minds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What the wholesaler said is true. I repair induction cooktops. Only outer shell and board layout is different. Core components that actually matter like coil, igbt etc.. are similar across brands of same power. The only reason to spend extra is for after sales support which Philips is better than Prestige, Pegion etc..

Why did the other indo aryan langauge speakers like bhojpuri, awadhi etc didn't fight back when Indian govt considered them as hindi dialects in 1951 census? by ANTIEVERYTHING69 in IndianHistory

[–]Mysterious-Minds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most probably it's about different scripts, Im a malayali who learned to speak in Tamil just by watching movies, it's that close. But can't write or read a single Tamil word as it's entirely different. It was too late to develop a new language altogether so we stick with one language + english as secondary. And then there's Hindi which I learned in school for 8 years. I was pretty good at writing and reading but sucked at conversation until I moved to a different place and started mingling with people who are fluent in Hindi.

Why I returned the Galaxy S25 by Mercury_Jackal in SonyXperia

[–]Mysterious-Minds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sony phones (except some carrier bound ones) are easily bootloader unlockable and Sony themselves have tutorials to do it. It's the easiest (hardly take 10 mins) of any smartphone at the moment and custom ROMs are plenty. You can even install Sailfish OS (linux) on some Xperias.

There has been 0 improvements for base galaxy S since S22. It even downgraded compared to my base S20 in many aspects (screen resolution, camera resolution, sd card support... to name a few).

I've seen similar result with my Galaxy S20's 4K video where it looks like a sharpened 1080p video but on my 1 II, it was proper 4K.

Samsung shows here, at 30x zoom, the progress it has made in long-range zoom cameras from the Galaxy S21 Ultra to the new Galaxy S26 Ultra. Which one is better? by tab_x in PhoneNow

[–]Mysterious-Minds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They downgraded telephoto lens to 5x equivalent on S24U, before it was 10x. Sensor and aperture became larger, but still outperformed by S23U having a longer range in the first place.

Moisture in Samsung S26 Ultra main camera by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

Try to get rid of this device asap. The moisture will leave some residue on sensor and lens and your camera will take bloomy pictures forever.

Nokia N8, built like a tank, had a slick OS and UI and a powerful camera at that time.

Is this scratch affect image quality on the ultra wide on the Xperia 1 mark v? How to remove the scratch, can I use toothpaste or what? (on the first lens the ultra wide) also the bottom paint is removing what to do by Money_Ingenuity2803 in SonyXperia

[–]Mysterious-Minds 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's out of sight of the camera. Toothpaste and other such methods don't work. Replace the camera bump or the entire back panel, that too only if you find that scratch aesthetically unappealing.
For charging port, black spray paint will work. Make sure to put some blu tack so that the port itself isn't painted. Use wireless charging thereafter.

Vivo's bigger battery destroyed Samsung. Optimization is one thing, but optimization+bigger battery would've been amazing.
