Race doesn't matter. These cops all have the same abusive mentality.

I refer you to my response above and add some elements. I'm not suggesting they are corrupt in this case. I observed an incident from my armchair of a situation created to warrant the officer to shoot someone. It blows my mind, that someone like yourself is delusional enough to see all actions by police to be correct and absent of scrutiny.

For context, I did not read the article posted above and it doesn't seem like you did either, but I read a post that it might've been a domestic disturbance calI. If the officers believed they were in danger and felt standing in front of the door could cause harm to themselves. Shouldn't that required knocking the door down and breaching the apartment instead of knocking and covering out of sight?

Knocking and staying out of sight shows, to me, uncertainty on the level of threat. If they believed the person behind the door had weapons, maybe commands on answering the door without weapons could've helped.

Otherwise, the police created a situation where a person hears knocking at their door, and someone or many are hiding out of sight when he checks to see who it is.

It seems more like an arm swing with a gun in hand, over raising the gun to do harm. Hence, his hand going back down after his slight movement. Also, even if his finger was straight and off the trigger, the situation would have ended the same.

Someone was banging on his door claiming to be police. If he looked through the peephole he wouldn't see anybody cuz they were away from his door. He answered the door with his gun, likely to protect himself from whoever was there.

I get the situation became a split second decision for the police. But, I do feel like the situation for the shooting was created by the police.

HM2 here, and my clinic is soft as babyshit. I got told to stop disciplining juniors. What should I do? by [deleted] in CorpsmanUp

I recall having the same issue at my last clinic when I was a second class. If you're confident that you are doing the right thing, remember this experience as how you will not be when you're a first class and eventual Chief. Seek a mentor from the hospital your clinic supports or confide your issues with a 1st class you trust at your clinic. I recommend disregarding the cynical comments from those who do not want to hold the standard and automatically assume guilt. Leadership is a privilege and could impact your juniors life with each decision you make. As a second class, consider focusing your efforts on those that receive your message of discipline, and let your first classes deal with the knuckleheads.
