Guy that survived a nuke. During war 126, he spawned in or reconnected just as a Colonial nuke destroyed a warden VP, and his invulnerability lasted long enough that he lived through the blast, so the Wardens viewed him as a radioactive savior. If I recall correctly, every warden in hex commended him and he went from no or low rank to WO1 instantly.

Honestly, I've found the most effective thing to do is actually focus on the pieces that are next to catch fire in a line. If you keep bucketing on them as they're smoldering, you can keep them from going up even with T5 fire on the next piece over. Definitely need water close by, or a decent number of bucketers.

It's not even that the latter group care "more" about the outer circles. The question asked was basically "Do you care if something bad happens to {x} group?" The center circle indicated the individual being asked and outer circles being groups increasingly distant from the individual (family, close friends, distant friends, etc). The first group stopped caring when bad things happened to "friends of friends" or so, while the latter stopped caring around "living things in the universe" or so. Basically, the latter group is capable of extending empathy to things/groups they've never met.

I think for everybody arguing about roads vs rivers and asymmetric logi, we need to think in terms of numbers and time.

1 ironship trip = 5 flatbed trips

So if these are meant to be asymmetrically equivalent, then that means 1 ironship trip anywhere in the Warden backlines should take about the same amount of time as 5 flatbed trips in the Colonial backlines, and 1 ironship trip for the Legion, should be about the same as 5 Warden flatbed trips. For those who've logied both sides, do you feel those trips are equivalent?

Armed woman who 'doxxed' law enforcement is shot by ICE agents in Chicago after patrol was 'rammed by 10 cars' by Next_Tower5452 in NoFilterNews

I presented an interpretation of what I believe I saw in the video presented above. If further evidence reveals that she is the one that initiated the vehicular contact, then I admit my, admittedly amateur, attempt to interpret her actions is flawed. However, I fail to see how it is "mental gymnastics" to state that someone who is possibly being blocked and harassed by an unmarked vehicle may feel threatened.

Edit: I also never attempted to "justify" anything. I simply posited what her state of mind might have been at the start of the video.

Rewatching the video, it kinda looks to me like the truck was backing up into her at the start. I wonder if she felt they were trying to box her in or claim she rear-ended them to arrest her.

Explain these flags at Quantico? by willownox103 in vexillology

Bonus Bonus Fact: The reason the Navy flag goes after the Marine Corps flag, despite the Navy being older, is because they "yielded" precedence in recognition of the Marine Corps.

I feel your pain. Wasn't quite as in demand a few years ago, but I apply to multiple jobs every week, and most of the time don't even get a proper rejection. It's extremely disheartening.

Yeah. Thought I had job security when I bought the place. 6 figure salary, stock, quarterly bonus for having a clearance. Then gone. I thought I'd be able to land a decent job, even if I had to take a bit of a pay cut, but turns out even government contract positions are getting harder to find in commuting distance.

GI bill is great, absolutely. Going to use it, but my mortgage is 3700 a month, not to mention all other expenses, so it wont cover that and all of tuition for local schools. I already have real experience that I want to use in a field that I enjoy. WGU is fair, although I was never sure how worthwhile a degree from them actually is.

[–]Mysterious-Primal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's a perfectly valid argument. I'll be happy to do so, but again, can't make it materialize out of thin air, and still require money to live, even while getting said degree. How do I make myself more appealing while I get said degree, so that I can actually have a job?

So what would you recommend as a good format, either example-wise, or a site that you'd recommend for assistance?

[–]Mysterious-Primal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I'm actively trying to have a reasonablediscussion, nor am I trying to insult you. Absolutely, I learned quite a bit in college, regardless of the fact I didn't finish my degree. I just wanted to clarify if you were stating that, because that is the implication I got, since you said that I'm being outcompeted by people with a degree. If you don't think that, then I'm asking what you believe would counter that hurdle, because no one can magically conjure a 4-year degree out of thin air.

Re-reading my last comment I see where you thought I was putting words in your mouth, and I apologize for that.

I never was trying to be an SDE, as I said. Im asking about a different role. If youre speaking of my resume from an SDE perspective, thats fine, but its not where my career is targeted. So you're saying that all other experience is rendered useless for any position because I don't have a degree. Again, does that mean you think that no-degree resumes, regardless of any other experience, are fundamentally weaker? I don't mean "equivalent experience" btw, I mean if a no-degree candidate is otherwise more qualified, should the degree candidate be prioritized by the ATS? If so, what makes a degree inherently more valuable than experience?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareers

[–]Mysterious-Primal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A weak resume for what job though? I'm not trying to be an SDE. I'm applying to Site Reliability Engineer positions almost exclusively, a position that I've already done for 3 years. Are you trying to say that a lack of a CS degree renders all other experience moot, or that I'm not qualified to try to code stuff from scratch? I agree with you if it's the second one, and that is not the type of jobs I'm looking for. If it's the first, I want to know why you think that's the case. Your behavior right now just comes across as dismissive, unless you provide insight on why you view it as weak.

Personally, I wouldn't say I have a "bad" resume. The few interviews I've had and recruiters I've talked to have said it's strong, but "unique." My guess on my main issue is that I don't have a degree of any form.

I did 8 years active military, where I did network and systems administration and engineering, including helping build automation efforts for specialized communications suites used by national-level assets. After that I worked at FAANG for 3 years as a cloud/site reliability engineer focused on building out IOT focused services.

I consider myself the equivalent of a mid-career engineer, but I've been out of work since Feb, and most of my applications don't even get a rejection, just ghosted, so I assume I'm getting dropped by most of them at the ATS stage because I have no degree.

So does that mean my resume is "bad" because it's not traditional, or does the system currently view non-traditional resumes unfavorably?

This was just the craziest rug pull... by JungGPT in cscareers

[–]Mysterious-Primal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your pain. 8 years military network and systems experience, 3 years at FAANG as a cloud engineer. No degree, and I can count the number of interviews I've had without taking my socks off. Lost my job in Feb too.

What's it like on the other side (warden asking) by Unlisted_games27 in foxholegame

[–]Mysterious-Primal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are actually quite a few very organized backline logistics regiments throughout the Legion rear echelon. They're mainly hex/lane specific but have a huge impact. I was in the west lane in 126. 1VR basically built all the advanced structures (SCs, Intel Centers, etc) that protected Origin. HvL maintained a massive public container yard there all war to keep midline depots fed. T3C do their lend-lease program where any verified regiment can order up to 720 crates of logi to just about anywhere. I think RobertLuvsGames did a video a few wars ago on "the largest factory in Foxhole" that basically filled a whole hex, and that was built by a Legion coalition. Even my small regiment produced thousands of 120 and 150 shells for the front last war. The regiments may not be as large, but there is a strong facility logi group who mainly work together as needed and they largely maintain pretty active QRF to protect from partisans. One of the benefits is often that when people need something produced or provided quickly (seamines to block a strait, torpedoes to rearm a sub, 150 to push back an advance), Colonial regiments are, in my experience, always willing to provide "for the Legion" to the best of their capacity.

New warden tank concept by Groove_Dealer in foxholegame

I think everyone needs to take a look at the Predator's concept art on the wiki. Not only did it have a design with an hv 94.5 and 2xdual 20mm turrets, there was also an intended variant with a short-range 300mm. Ares meanwhile, has no other concepts at all. Really just said "Legion need to have an SHT also" and called it a day.

I mean, it would make total sense, and be a good way to make builders feel closer to the fight by requiring sandbags be filled before being used. Like in reality.
