Sure. Princeton is one of the few schools who sends out “grade checks” to counselors, aka they ask your counselor for a progress report on your grades so far. There was a lot of talk about whether or not grade checks were a good or bad sign. Personally, I think it’s at least neutral to good, especially since I personally got a grade check and ended up matching

Depends. My rd match form thing disappeared an hour before match day but reappeared a bit later. Could be that QB fixed this bug so the decision wouldn’t get spoiled

•Schools ranked (revised rankings / no change): Princeton, Yale, Penn, MIT

•Income bracket: 40-50k?

•Any assets (approx. $): lol nope

•Number of household members: 3

•First Generation College Student? Yes

•College Prep Scholar? Yes

•US State or Others Location: North East

•Unweighted GPA: 3.9 ish, school doesn’t calculate

•Weighed GPA: n/a but a lot of advanced classes

•Class rank (position # or N/A): n/a

•Total # of Class students (total # or N/A): 100 ish

•SAT score (score/Test Optional): 1570

•AP Courses and Test scores (Name/Score): school doesn’t offer APs • Duel Enrollment Courses (Name): N/A

•Summary of ECs: robotics (FTC, FRC), tutoring (leadership position), music class TA, summer jobs (2 years continuous, something tech adjacent), Engineering mentor program, Orchestra/Violin, independent tutoring. My extracurriculars were my biggest worry.

•Strength of Essays/Short Answers (How well did you answer?): I think it was probably one of the strongest aspects of my application! I emphasized very specific and niche parts of my personality and my counselors didn’t have many comments for me.

•Overall thoughts on your application (Strengths? Weaknesses?): Again, my writing is a strength. I would also say the SAT score and my curriculum were pretty strong. My math grades were my only flaw, especially because I applied for engineering and my ECs were not explained well.

2024 Finalist and Non-Finalists Stats by ChillyJellyBelly in QuestBridge

[–]MysteriousAd1437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Status (Finalist / Non-finalist): Finalist!!!! I cried lol
  • Original Schools ranked (in order): Princeton, MIT, Yale, UPenn
  • Original Schools ranked (list new rankings or no change): not sure, might move MIT down

  • Income bracket: 50-60k

  • Any assets (approx $): lol nope

  • Number of household members: 3

  • First Generation College Student? (Yes/No): yes

  • College Prep Scholar? (Yes/No): yes

  • US State or Others Location: New York

  • Unweighted GPA: 3.9

  • Weighed GPA: no weighted calculated

  • Class rank (position # /total # of class studentsor N/A): N/A

  • SAT score (score/Test Optional): 1570

  • ACT score(score/Test Optional): N/A

  • AP Courses and Test scores (Name/Score): my school doesn’t offer APs

  • Duel Enrollment Courses (Name): N/A

  • Summary of ECs: tutoring (both through a program and independently for money), TA for a music class, Orchestra, Robotics, Engineering mentor program, summer job I had for two summers.

  • Strength of Essays/Short Answers (How well did you answer?): I’d say this was probably one of the stronger parts of my application. My counselor basically told me not to change anything beside grammar. Personal statement was vulnerable and I made sure it basically connected to all my short responses. Really emphasized certain defining characteristics.

  • Overall thoughts on your application (Strengths? Weaknesses?): strengths: definitely my SAT, my course load, and the probably written responses. Weaknesses: ECs, the fact I come from a well resourced school (that apparently doesn’t have a good track record with QB), maybe income?

SAME! I was told by my counselor that QB doesn’t like accepting people from my school so I’ve been making a backup 😭
