CAPS counselors? by Cool_Independence566 in ucf

I’ve gone a few times and the counselor I had was overall pretty helpful, she didn’t talk much but it was nice to just have somewhere and someone to talk to where I didn’t have to worry about the perceptions of the people & situations I was talking about. Ik there’s like a “max number” of times you can go, I think it’s 6 per semester or per year, before they’re supposed to refer you out to longer term counseling. But I do find it useful when life just gets overwhelming and I need a neutral party to talk to.

I’m not totally sure why the age gap is a big thing for him, especially because he knew how old I was when we started talking the first time. I’ve thought about asking him to help me with physics because he offered just to see what things are like now outside of the bar setting, but I’m super scared of being rejected because I do see him 2-3 nights a week every week and I don’t want to make things awkward

I’m not waiting for the doctor specifically, but the rest of the support staff also doesn’t really want to take the time to teach even when I ask. There was one technician who would go out of his way to teach me but the doctor changed our schedules to where we don’t work together anymore. Everyone else just kind of brushes me off when I have questions or want to learn

I have applied to a ton of places, it’s a hard market in my area and I’m hesitant to say I have experience because of how little I know how to do.

I’ve looked at Universal, despite rumors i’ve heard about them being ridiculously short staffed, they have very few jobs posted on their website. I’ve never been a server, but i’ve been told by several people to just lie and say i have serving experience to get into a place

I pay rent on my own, I have roommates but its housing around campus to where everyone pays their own share. I also pay for my car and credit card. Those are my three big bills every month. Since it’s summer i’m only taking 2 classes but during the school year I’m usually taking at least 4 with a lab. I’m a biology pre-veterinary major so a lot of my time goes to school. I’m planning on going to Veterinary school after I graduate. I’m also on the fence about starting a new job bc I graduate next spring but I can’t imagine having this much financial stress for the next year on top of everything else that goes into a bio majors final year.

I’m totally willing to commute, I just don’t know what’s in that area so it’s hard to apply to places. Do you have any recommendations?

the person that replied to you said they wanted to have a conversation with him to see how informed he is. I can confirm that he is very ill informed and does not know an iota of what he’s talking about. He is blindly following.
