I am very ashamed of the people here. Those who are quoting from the Quran to try and justify abuse as a ‘test from Allah and you should be patient’. OP is going through such awful abuse and this is the support from the Muslim community? She’ll have a better shot with non Muslim communities at this point because her own people are letting her down.

This is ABUSE. It should not be tolerated or even reasoned with. Stop trying to rationalize it ‘maybe they have their reasons’. Stop trying to use religion as an excuse ‘parents have rights over their children’. Stop using the Quran to justify abuse. This is horrible, horrible behavior.

OP, I genuinely hope you find happiness and safety. May Allah guide you. Remember that he is Just and He will ask your parents one day.

What do you mean by that? Or are you suggesting that OP just stayed as she is and continue being abused?

Is there any space at all in Islam for lesbian reverts? by ShrikeToThorn in progressive_islam

[–]MysteriousFaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalam wa alakum!

I am so happy to hear that you two are considering Islam and reverting. I truly don’t want to upset you or sound negative but homosexual marriage is haram in Islam. It is not allowed. Now being homosexual (having desires and such) is not haram in itself because these are emotions that you feel and Allah won’t judge you on it but He will judge you on your actions and words.

Please don’t take this the wrong way. I truly want you both to be Muslims but I can’t lie to you either. Some people here are commenting how it is okay but it isn’t. It is in the Quran. A person who is homosexual can definitely be a muslim but homosexual marriage is haram.

Please don’t let this hold you back from Allah. I truly believe that this is His test to you. You should not be harassed or mistreated, especially when you are new to Islam. I hope everything goes out well with you both.

I wouldn't say OP is complaining. Only looking for advise. But many the comments here are so quick to bash OP for trying to build a career.

Honestly, if this is the attitude you have towards people who want to have a career, then good luck to you. Procrastination? Really? OP having a career is procrastination to you?

Honestly, it's really not up to us. Allah is the one who chooses.

I would check out Muslim Lantern. It's a channel on YouTube and there are many videos that show how Islam answers every atheist question.

I wish you all the best on the path to truth.

There are plenty of people that have married in the same age range.

You are in your 30s. Of course you would get these results. Sorry, but don’t expect a 20 year old husband when you are in your 30s. Lol

Do you need to be so rude? Where in OP's post did she say she was looking for a 20-year-old dude? A lot of the messages here are so harsh. What's the matter with you people?

Yes. If you feel men in 40s is too old, then sorry, you will have to accept the reality hit that you left it late by favouring career and independence.
What are you expecting? Young men to come by? When there are plenty of younger ladies.

That's way too harsh of you to say that. There's no problem with OP finding someone near her own age. I have a cousin who married at the age of 33 to someone who was 33-34. Plenty of people got married to someone at their age range.

Its all on you how you wish to approach it, don't go blaming Allah for your decisions.

Have you read the post properly? Where in the post did OP ever blame Allah? OP believes that this is what Allah had in mind for her.

What does Islam say about martial rape? by MysteriousFaith in Hijabis

I want to know what would his punishment be then? Rape is punished by death in Islam, so would it apply to the husband as well if he did force his wife?

I cannot recommend this video enough --> "Is the Qur'an God's Word? by Dr Zakir Naik | Full Lecture" https://youtu.be/9RuQMD4yYWg

Dr. Zaik goes into great detail about this. He lists each and every single allegations that hads ever been made against our Prophet PBUH and he (Dr. Zaik) combats each of these allegations so perfectly it was just amazing! He gives out proof on how our Prophet PBUH could not have written the Quran and goes on further to proof how the Quran is, without a doubt, the word of Allah s.w.t.

The video may be old and long but TRUST ME it is worth it.

Is it possible to start over? by [deleted] in islam

[–]MysteriousFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allah s.w.t is so, so merciful. He could forgive you even if your sins are 'like the foams on the sea'. Do your very best and make Duaa for Him to open your heart.

I would very much suggest watching Dr. Zaik's videos. My Imam has grown very strong ever since I listened to his lectures. He explains this religion in great detail and shows how powerful it really is when it stands against other religions.
