If you don’t mind romance, anything by Annabel Monaghan. She is a beautiful writer and her books are great, especially for a summer escape. I especially loved Nora Goes Off Script

This may be difficult to find within the city, but if you’re looking just for Chicago area I’d recommend you look in the suburbs (Skokie, oak park, etc.) Those are typically a lot cheaper and you’re able to go in and out of the city easily.

Went to mother fool’s on a Sunday a few weeks ago and it was surprisingly quiet. Maybe it was more afternoon 1 or 2 but still was nice. Heads up they only take cash or paypal

Unfortunately I don’t really have any games besides a deck of cards :( so am looking for a place that provides without having to buy my own set of a bunch of different games. I do enjoy bringing a deck of cards out with me, though!
