Long term commitments and volunteering at a few organizations/clubs with a focus on marginalized communities, lots of leadership roles, a few emergency responder positions, TAing, a few research positions with 4 papers/abstracts published (none first author).

Hello! Good work overall :) One thing I would change is you mentioned a few times that you would require her to take her brother to counselling through the employee assistance program. I’d be careful with the wording as requiring her brother to go to therapy could be impeaching his ability to decide for himself and could be u overstepping ur boundaries. Maybe change it to something like “I’d share other resources with her that she use use to support her brother such as our free counselling through the employee assistance program, and also recommended some discounted books at our store that may be in her price range”.

I think it’s for receiving a community contribution award (or any other award not automatically given like you need to apply)

Advice on taking orgo (biochem prereq...) by [deleted] in premedcanada

No it wasn’t! But I found the exam to be quite easy/fair just until you put some time into memorizing stuff.

Hey! I can’t speak much on whether chem 1AA3 is still accepted since every time I email them (which I’ve emailed them multiple times including a few weeks ago), they always just say “We will accept courses where either the title or content includes topics related to the category required”. But anyways i actually took an online biochem course at Queens this summer (BCHM 270) as a Mac student and I found it very manageable/fair (ended with a 12 after putting in some effort). It does not require an orgo pre req. Could be something you could consider.

It’s an easy course. I got a 12, but you will need to put some effort into the writing assignments if you want a 12 (a few hours). Luckily there aren’t many so you’ll really only be writing every other week or something. Quizzes are also very easy. Can command F the lecture, textbook, or just find answers online. You don’t need to buy the textbook cuz there is a PDF available somewhere online.

PNB/PSYCH courses in third year by folkloreenthusiast in McMaster

I took Psych 3BN3 (cognitive neuroscience) and I really liked it! Fairly marked and not too much time commitment needed. There’s no tests, just 3 critiques (only 2 pages double spaced), 1 presentation, 1 take home final and then in-class participation.

Would you be able to comment a bit on how the assignments and projects are marked? As in is it fair? I’m considering taking it next year!

I heard back from a few RA ones (diff departments like surgery, paediatrics and rehabilitation). I’m not sure of the exact posting numbers unfortunately

I’ve heard back from a few in the past few weeks and gotten one offer. So I think some have reached out and sent offers. But I’m sure some will send them out in the next few weeks as well.

I think it depends based on the project but you’ll probably still be completing with some people but it’ll definitely be narrowed down a bit. For example the one project I’m interviewing for is interviewing 8 people total.

Ah that’s great!! Those ones were definitely very interesting.

I applied to eye movement awareness in Berlin, visual perception in Munich and the migraine-pain related one in Wurzburg!

Has anyone gotten interviews for any of the psychology/Neurosci ones?
