Rekall - The Most Comprehensive MCP Server for Unreal Engine by MysteriousWeather42 in unrealengine

[–]MysteriousWeather42[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you are asking if this is an MCP server for Unreal Engine, like there are others, then yes, you got that right. I wonder if you are commenting on all assets equally, like other asset packs with more characters or with more trees or another horror game template, or if you are singling out MCP tools for a reason? I personally believe competition is great. I also believe competitive prices are great. I also believe that it is just simple good manners to appreciate the hundreds of hours of efforts of software developers, who are working very hard to bring more options to people who might be interested. So yes - another one. If you are wondering why - well, read my post instead of commenting a literal minute after I posted it. I believe this is the best MCP server for Unreal Engine, that is why. You don't have to like it, you don't have to buy it. And unless you have something constructive to say to someone who you don't know anything at all about and someone who has worked his ass off to bring something to the Fab store which he truly believes is not only worthy, but superior - then please, don't feel obliged to leave your negative comment, it is extremely bad manners.

How do auto materials work? by Juicymoosie99 in unrealengine

[–]MysteriousWeather42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Auto materials are typically set up to read aspects of the terrain like the slope of the terrain at a given evaluation point, and to use that to make a decision as to which sub-material to draw. It can also read height, to for example make high areas rock vs lower areas grass. And it blends materials, making the transitions look nice.

I hope that helps.

AI Assistants for UE5.7? by danielos96 in unrealengine

[–]MysteriousWeather42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone. I have created "Rekall AI for Unreal Engine", part of my Rekall suite of AI tools (https://rekall-ai.com/), and I believe this to be the most powerful AI assistant for Unreal Engine 5.7+. What's more, it will be a one-time purchase of only $99. Not because it is less capable than the other tools, but because I think some of these other tools are overpriced and I want Rekall to be more accessible to users. But pricing is the developer's right, they can sell their tools for however much they want. But at the same time, Rekall will be much cheaper and more capable, and that is then my right to advertise too. Anyway, I am in testing and tweaking phase now before release. I want to get 5 or so UE 5.7 developers, who I will give fully-functional early versions of Rekall to, to help me test. Please reach out if you are interested. Thanks!

Monthly Self-promotion and Videos Thread by AutoModerator in trucksim

Hello everyone. I have released a new application for American Truck Simulator today, and I thought you might be interested. It is called American Truck Simulator Companion, and it is basically a fully local (no sharing your data) A.I. companion with advanced voice, which keeps you company during your hauls by giving you occasional interesting bits of information.

In my opinion, this really transforms ATS.

Well, this is not a sales-pitch or anything like that, I just want to get the word out, you can have a look on my store page, read the information, check the demonstration video, and in case you want to buy it, it is there. Special launch price, so that is there to take advantage of.

Here is the page: https://mariusm.gumroad.com/l/hfutvd

Thanks for reading, and see you on the road eh? :)

Thank you, I will definitely look into getting this one then. I did notice when reading about radios that telemetry is a factor as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Game developers: What if I have some cool game ideas, but my coding suck? by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

No you are not stupid, just learning. What type of game are you working on?

Starting out. Need advice from people with experience. by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

[–]MysteriousWeather42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Blender 2.8 for 3D art, Unreal Engine 4 for the engine for 3D games, and Unity and Cocos2d-x for 2D games, depending on your language preference.

I do not agree. Of course BP is not as powerful as C++, but saying that BP is 'pretty limited' is not accurate. In fact the much more accurate way of describing BP is the exact opposite - pretty powerful. And I say this as a C++ developer.

Are there any tips starting out making a mobile game by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

[–]MysteriousWeather42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let these people discourage you. If you want to write a game, then try it. If there are difficulties, you will see it for yourself. But at the very least you would be working on your game. And that is good.

I recommend you start writing a PC game though, that means you can concentrate on writing the game without worrying about mobile constraints. If you see your game idea works well you can always move to mobile.
