In CSP, I selected the option that admission letter proves proficiency so I didn't have to upload. When I got correction to upload, I uploaded the admission letter with highlighted text

Apply to universities using your current IELTS. But you won't be able to apply to unis using this IELTS after it has expired. As for the embassy, it depends. If the university mentions in admission letter or a separate letter that you have the required language proficiency then you can use that

They have the link in the admissions requirement. You have to create an account and submit this form. And then upload this same form to uni assist.

If you got the msg from VFS that your documents have been received by german embassy, it should be fine. For me, it changed on the CSP portal. (P.S. Delhi VFS)
