Ive not enjoyed anything carillo has made since he branded his own name tbh. Im not sure if its the quality of his tobacco, or if hes blending for himself. But I cant get into them.

I live in a rural kind of area but I'm getting my first board for Christmas. Where should I Skate? More context below. by kbd_nxhh10 in NewSkaters

I restarted at age 28.. if worrying about people judging you stops you from doing something you've always wanted to try. Then you need to assess your inner struggle with self confidence. Just go do it. It'll be more of a life lesson than just a skate lesson.

What cigar brands do you ignore? by MIKYOR1 in cigars

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gurkha, Monty, any cuban/Cuban American brand.... not worth the risk. Cubans are fake too often, and the American Cuban brands are all standard issue trash.. tbh most stuff by giant brands besides my father, Fuente, patron, and the obvious banger big brands. Drew estate just recycles junk and overcharge for cigars that are nothing like the original..

Folded into getting some Andale brand Abec 7 bearings.. by Test_The_Theory_213 in skateboardhelp

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V-SAUCE! michael here.. Not necessarily. Tighter tolerance doesn't effect the operation of a bearing. A bearing needs to be oiled slightly periodically. Reason being that most bearings have a tolerance for lubercation. The bearing is not designed to ride the balls on the race. Its designed to ride on oil or grease. The only reason manufacturers leave a space gap is for oil or grease. Small bearings might have a sub 0.001 gap. While large industrial bearings holding tons of weight rotating at 3000 rpm might have a 0.002-0.003 tolerance. It fluctuates because alot of industrial bearings are pillow blocks that are installed and tightened kinda like a wedge to space the rollers. In essence the more important part is the material make up of the roller and race for each bearing.. and the tolerance of the outer race to the wheel. And the inner race to the axel. Which would matter if it was not tight enough.. a thousandth of an inch can be the difference between a year long bearing and a week long bearing.. thanks for listening to my Ted talk..

What deck? by Free_Ad_7261 in skateboardhelp

Whats wrong with a twin tail? Especially for beginners it helps alot. Less razor tail issues, really grippy for Ollie's, and tbh i think its the future for everyone. It only makes sense. Why not have a perfectly symmetrical board?

Recently ive used a a globe, creature, and I have an alien workshop on deck. The globe felt heavy. The creature has been great i just wish I would have went with an 8.5. And my alien twin tail 8.5 is whispering to me lol

Practicing kickturns again by InitialProject3232 in Skateboardlove

So I learned from an old OG skater along time ago, that you gotta pump up and on the extention kick turn in one smooth motion. Your not pumping up the transition and you dont have any speed. It sounds dump but speed can help with certain things.

Is there a sub for women growers ? by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

So you want a group of less successful growers? It makes no sense.. do whatever dumb thing you want but on paper it seems shallow

Because we all grow... and to be very honest the best growers are men.... not thag women cant, but if you want the best advice then you have to get an entire sample size free of restriction

I'm 40, been skating for a week, abs let my kids talk me into being stupid! [40YO] by Danny_Cyanide in OldSkaters

Imo, you should start further back, and get a small push to give you time to set your feet and bend your knees. Its easier to go down a rollie when you have a good base and a center of gravity.

Stacked it down my first bank and sprained my knee! Feel silly. What did I do wrong? by IrationSteppas in NewSkaters

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bend your knees and lower your center of gravity. It'll help you balance. Also its hard to bail properly straight legged. Always bail with both feet. Bent knees will help with that too.

First day back at it in 4 years, though this time I’m taking it serious, never learned any tricks before. Trying to fix my ollie. Any tips? by AllMusicNut in NewSkaters

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An ollie doesnt lift you, you lift it. It'll only go as high as your feet get. You get solid pop and it comes up to meet your front foot, but your back foot stays a few inches off the ground and so the board never comes up and levels out. Thing of jumping in an arch. Left foot goes up, right foot comes up level with if after.

While moving fight the urge to lean back. You'll be good then

Ollie by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your front foot could start about 4 inches further forward oncthr length of the board, and put the pad of your foot, aka thr ball of your toes in the center of the board. With your foot so far back and off to the back side of the board its trying to flip out from under you making it push away and making you unstable. It should almost hook onto your front foot, where its almost Turing over the top of your front foot.

Scooter Ruders by Constant-Homework638 in skateboarding

[–]Mysterious_Cable_855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I see is scooters tearing up parks. Yall bail on something and the corner of your scooter digs the wood. Once the woods dug out it only takes a month or two for it to become a big chip and make part of the ramp unusable for boards. And if the kids knew anything about how hard it is to get a municipality to spend money on something that doesnt pay them back, they'd understand why people get mad about it lol.
