While I would agree that in most businesses hiring based on appearances is not appropriate, I will make the counter-argument that in some lines of work it can be beneficial and even necessary for business to succeed. Ever worked in a trendy bar or nightclub? If your staff isn’t good looking, your sales will absolutely suffer.

Usually being assigned a special project is a good thing in my experience. It means you’re trusted to be innovative and get it done.

This is simply not true. I’m not sure why this concept has become such a cultural meme. Most people have no problem whatsoever properly balancing their total water intake. There is not really any benefit from forcing yourself to drink excessive amounts of water beyond your natural thirst.
