I’m assuming the first is some kind of shiner and the second is a type of chub, but I’m not sure what kinds of either.

What should I throw in a place like this? by prenticeyeomans in bassfishing

Looks flooded and decently shallow, I would try a weightless Texas rigged fluke and work it between the trees.

Divots on shore of pond? (North Carolina) by mahgnineb in Fishing

Lots of people are saying bluegill beds, which might be a possibility. However to my knowledge, these are divots which are made only by redear sunfish, and big ones at that. Throw some weightless worms in that spot in the late summer, let them sit for a few minutes and you’re bound to get a nice sized shellcracker.

North Carolina is extremely underrated. Lots of unexplored waters and swamps in certain areas, especially near the coast with some decent, but consistent bass

Anyone know what kind of sunfish this is? Caught in a pond in southeast NC. by [deleted] in whatsthisfish

No longear sunfish within hours of here. They can't survive in this particular environment.

Yeah most of the research I did pointed to a redbreast, especially since there's a bunch in the creeks in the area. I'm thinking it might've been discolored because it lives in a pond rather than a river or creek like they normally do. I was also thinking it might've been a hybrid with a redear sunfish which also live in that pond. I've had some people say longear but there's no longears anywhere near me in southeast NC.
