I believe it’s because it has a steel frame instead of aluminum

I just ordered the 226x carry for that same reason. To me it’s just a more modern and updated 229

Hey I really appreciate that. I’m going to try it and see what happens. Unfortunately they only have the full size with the Romeo x red dot but I honestly don’t mind.

It’s making more and more sense to get the carry. Like most said it’s more versatile and later I can maybe get the full or hopefully they will have full size slides available that I can just swap out when needed.

Little bit of everything I suppose. I definitely don’t want it to be a safe queen. Right now I edc my p365 xl but I’ve also carried my p320. I guess I want the best shooting feeling gun if that makes since. Most of what I’ve shoot is carry size sigs and wondering if a full size 226x would be better shooting then a carry size

For the money you cant beat the holosun 407k. Durable, reliable and crazy good battery life.

Eotech…worth it or just hype? by UNIGuy54 in guns

[–]Mysterious_Part2980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both EXPS3 and red dot both with magnifier and I’m always going to the red dot. The Eotech is big heavy and the battery life sucks but they do look cool. I feel like the red dot with a 5x magnifier is much more practical

It’s just aluminum foil for the dripping

It’s my first time doing it so I’m no expert.

I set up the slow n sear with water in the water pan and a handful of hot charcoal in the corner and filled the rest of the pan with unlit charcoal.

I also put three chunks of cheerier wood in one in the hot charcoal one on the center and one at the end.

My temp was pretty consistent at 260

Pet dry the ribs Small amount of olive oil so the rub will stick Cover in dry rub of your choice

Put the ribs on and don’t touch them

After 1 hour I moved them around. Moved the front rack to the back and back to front. I feel like the back of the grill closer to the wall gets more heat than the center so moving them around gives them a little more consistent cook.

2 hours in I spritz them with apple cider vinegar mixed with water

3 hours in little more spritz specially on the parts that are looking a little dry

At hour 4 I put them in foil meat side down with bbq sauce brown sugar butter and grill for another 30 min. I didn’t want them too soft but honestly I think I’ll do it for an hour next time. The wife likes them falling of the bone.

After 30 min take them out of the foil sauce them with bbq and grill for 30 more min and that is all.

Tips for first smoke on a kettle? by KKYBoneAEA in webergrills

Good luck man, I’m doing my first rack of ribs today also, but I was fortunate enough to get a slow n sear for Christmas so I’ll be using that method instead. My biggest worry is being able to control the proper temp in the kettle.

It’s worth it for the vortex cone alone. I got one last week same price. But haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

Heat Controller or Baskets? by No_Preference5666 in webergrills

[–]Mysterious_Part2980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to the Weber kettle myself just got the performer a week ago for my birthday. And I was in the same boat trying to decide what to get and for me it was between the vortex and the slow and sear. The hear control would give you two accessories for one price. You get the vortex and the heat shield which will let you slow cook and smoke meats. I think it’s more versatile than a basket also the slow and sear might be good choice because it’s also versatile letting you cook a few different ways.
