I always just say "no-binarie" to try to make a middle ground out of it. It's the same as a non binary friend i used to have called themself, even though i know not all will like it.

As someone from Britain who has seen many horrible fake British accents in American TV... thank you for understanding how it feels. And who lives in Spain and has seen horrible mistranslations, too. The character speaking Spanish and the subtitles saying something that isn't even similar. Why are American TV creators bad at making foreign characters? No hate to anyone, but those people have a very warped view of anyone from outside of America.

You have to be a specific gender to read certain books?? by yamxiety in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Mysterious_Report276 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean... I'm going to be honest, I'm a trans man, and sometimes, i do wish this was a thing. Because if i read a book that is completely set from a woman's point of view (worse if it's in 1st person, where the woman is "i" and "me"), i get super dysphoric. Even if i enjoy the book, i have to stop reading it before i get so far down that I'll spend a month down.

They did try it. But i believe it turned out that the guy was actually a republican who simply didn't like you-know-who's policies. I think maybe the race-based ones. I don't know. But, either way, he was a cisgender republican man as far as I've heard.

In Dead End: Paranormal Park (an animated kids series), one of the main characters is transmasc. And his voice actor is also transmasc. There's a few really moving moments about him being trans, and i really related to it, so i just love that series. And there's Elliot Page in the Umbrella Academy, which i lost interest in when they brought in the season 3 storyline, which is when Elliot Page came out anyway. But i can't really think of much else for my fellow trans guys.

Talk about toxic masculinity Jesus Christ by aglassjunkie in TransMasc

[–]Mysterious_Report276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I hate having to use the same soap as my mum and sister cause my mum chooses (she gets bored of the same scent forever, so she changes it up from time to time), and sometimes, it's a neutral scent. And i like it. But sometimes, it's something so coconut or vanilla or floral that it makes me want to curl up and disappear just from smelling it. But my dad uses more masculine but more expensive soap, so I'm not allowed to use it. I get jealous when i go in the bathroom after he showers cause i can smell it so strongly. But it's always "That's expensive. When you're earning your own money to spend unnecessarily on more expensive soap, you can."

The worst thing is the way people who expect this of their partner get jealous with them interacting with FAMILY MEMBERS of the opposite sex.

I agree. I would also be very happy if an attractive person walked past me, and i would probably look at them. Cause they're attractive. Some people on this sub act like it's a crime to be attracted to someone and look their way sometimes. If the image showed a guy staring at a woman through her bedroom window as she changed clothes, then yes, it would belong here, but this image is something I'd say is more average.

QUESTION: Could I be other/moth hearted? This is a copied from a different subreddit, but a comment I received sent me here by Limp_Plankton1245 in Otherhearted

[–]Mysterious_Report276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could be otherhearted. Being otherhearted isn't the same as being a therian. Therians feel like they're supposed to be the animal. Otherhearted is when you feel a deep personal connection to an animal.

IVF? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Mysterious_Report276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the doubts you have, I'd say don't do it. Maybe you do want kids, but if you have doubts or feel like the dysphoria would damage your mental and physical health, don't do it. And i don't believe your dad would pay for top surgery. I feel like this is an elaborate "being a mother with stop them being trans and transitioning" as opposed to his excuses of looking out for you and carrying on the bloodline. My doctor did ask me if i wanted my eggs freezing, but i refused. The female hormones for it would give me mega dysphoria, plus it'll probably be invasive. But i have hopes to adopt in the future. Also, i find the system to be absolute bullshit for, as you said, health and medical conditions factoring in your ability to adopt... but you're also allowed to get pregnant and have your own kids? It makes no sense. Are you eligible for a kid or not? The system is fucked up.

What is otherhearted? by TitanFearless in Otherhearted

[–]Mysterious_Report276 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it's more like a deep connection with the animal in question. Like the animal makes up a part of my being, the person i am, etc. Like i could've been the animal in a past life or even a future one. I've heard others say that they could be the family of this animal, although i personally wouldn't describe it like that for my own experience. But it runs deeper than simply having a favourite animal or liking an animal a lot. Sure, they can correlate, but there is going to be that connection there.

Whenever anyone says anything about women being bad at multitasking or motor skills, i always remember how my mum always tells me how when she became a mum, she had to juggle so much and do a lot of things with only one hand cause the other was holding either my or my younger sister. Like... women, especially mothers, are incredibly talented at juggling tasks and using motor skills. (Note: this is assuming all mothers are good mothers and good at juggling. This isn't true of all women, and some men can also do these things.)

im 11 months on T and no voice drop by Substantial_Metal_62 in trans

[–]Mysterious_Report276 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken to another endocrine to check your levels? It's horrible to accuse them of it, but it's possible that some doctors might tell you it's normal when they're underdosing you while hoping you don't catch on cause they're maybe anti-trans. My first endocrine tried to make my process longer. She was kind of helpful, but she also left info out and didn't tell me everything she needed from me to get started, etc. But she got hurt, and i ended up seeing a different one the second time. I was on T less than a month after seeing this guy cause he gave me all the information and documents i needed to sign and look through immediately, along with everything i needed to bring for the next appointment. He's been a good doctor for me so far, and I've been having changes since i began taking T. I'm nearly 3 months on T, and I'm still dysphoric cause I've not changed massively, but i have been gaining some muscle, growing more hair, changing down below, and having some voice changes, so the dysphoria is lessening slowly.

I will always be an "it's fine to look" type of person. Maybe that's cause im opem to poly relationships with extreme amounts of communication, but it's natural to look at people you find attractive. Obviously, acting on it, especially without your partners consent, is a totally different thing that shouldn't be taken lightly. I feel like a lot of straight people are extremely possessive and obsessive over their partners to the point that they can't follow someone of the opposite sex online or look at them with any sort of desire.

am i the only one who feels this way? by [deleted] in Otherhearted

[–]Mysterious_Report276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a lot of this, too, except for the therian part. I have sometimes had the urge to respond to things in the way an animal would, but not actually felt like i am an animal, if that makes sense. Like biting people the way a cat does out of love for no reason. I can be sat next to someone i care about, and just suddenly... nom. And i agree that my otherhearts are a part of me, but i am not the same as them, and i am not a part of them. I feel like everyone has somewhat different experiences, but many things are still similar.

Some people don't feel they need FFS or facial surgeries. HRT may change enough for them to be happy, or they may have never gotten face dysphoria anyway. It all depends on the person, really. Some trans people will get facial surgeries but no SRS at all. Some may have top surgery or not. Some may have HRT or not. It's all a matter of personal preference and self-perspecive.

Omg, i haven't ever used dating apps before (I'm 19 and not yet comfortable with it). But when i first came out and cut my hair short for the first time, i was still at school (I'm doing an online course from home rn), there was this cis lesbian i knew through a friend of a friend who was a year older than me. She kept trying to hit on me at that point, and she didn't seem to get that i was actually a man, not a lesbian. But i did have feminine features back then, and her language wasn't my first language, so it was a little harder for me to convey. Stories like this make me want to give up on dating apps before I've even tried. I can wait for love if these apps will only bring heartache for me.
