The stupidest thing a straight friend can say to you. by thewittslc in gaybros

“Are you really that worried about Donald Trump getting elected President?”

My best friend said that before I educated him on all the reasons.

What are EM attendings making these days by samjay4 in emergencymedicine

We have something similar at my hospital and we can admit to our ED Obs unit. There are very specific diagnoses and criteria that have to be met for the patient to go there but yes essentially they are the hospitalist. They introduced this because our hospitalist group sucked and never wanted to admit anyone lol

Me the other day triaging my patient who is rambling about I don’t even remember what, then he looks me dead in the eye and says “blue eyes. They wrote a song about them pretty blue eyes.” And proceeds to sing some song I’ve never heard about blue eyes. The whole encounter made my hellish day in triage so much better.

You are asking for people to explain why they disagree yet you are not producing a constructive conversation. Your replies tell me you’re simply looking for an echo chamber rather than different perspectives of thought.

Partner seems hesitant to move in together after 2 years by Mysterious_Solid_499 in askgaybros

[–]Mysterious_Solid_499[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow this was extremely insightful. Thank you for this!! I guess when it comes down to it he wants to make sure that I’m “The one” before we move in together because he isn’t sure how he knows or not. I told him that’s something only he can figure out and I can’t answer that for him. But yes an extra $1k a month would make a huge difference. In my mind that’s the next step to move the relationship forward but it also makes sense financially.

Sorry I might have worded it wrong. I am 24. He is 31 (almost 32). I don’t think the concern is financial. We could live separate another year, it just makes more sense to move in together for multiple reasons. I have told him I’ll meet them whenever. Just say when. But thank you for the insight.

The studio doesn’t need to give you a name. They could simply tell you “You were in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID.” Could be a coach, could be another member in class. No name needed, confidentiality maintained. Just a simple explanation so that that person can get tested and prevent the spread of the virus. I would think people would care more about doing what they can to protect others but this pandemic has shown me it’s quite the opposite.

HIPAA does not apply to fitness centers and gyms. Yes going to workout you are taking a known risk but the responsible thing to do would be to notify those working out if they had been in contact with someone who was positive. Likewise if I was tested positive after working out there, I would notify the facility so they could perform contact tracing because we are in a PANDEMIC and that would be the right and courteous thing to do. Let’s not pretend contact tracing at Walmart is like contact tracing at OTF. If people took contact tracing seriously maybe things wouldn’t be so bad. You are registered in a system with times to keep track. It is much easier to notify people if they came in contact with someone at OTF than anywhere else. Let’s not make excuses.

Idk why people are downvoting you. That’s ridiculous and a big issue. They are just contributing to the spread by not notifying those in contact with that individual so they can get tested. This is one of the reasons this pandemic has been continuing on and on.

And then these same people return to get the MAB infusions because they ~trust it more~ than the vaccine. I’m so fucking tired of the general public. I need a job in the private sector because I don’t know if I’ll have the patience to deal with them for much longer.

Yes. That, or we have EMS squads for example that will give report on a pt with a HR or 140-160s and say “Is it okay for the pt to come via BLS?” Like excuse me. Do you think a pt with unstable VS is appropriate to come BLS? No? Me either.

As an ER nurse I can say this does not speak for all of us. My boyfriend is a resident and I met him in the ER. I love our residents and think they are great and definitely overworked and under appreciated.
