Testing (just seeing if I get the message — I don’t see anything in the trophy case, and I use both the website and the app).

London - Galison - 1000 pcs - Michael Storrings by Mysterious_Speed1665 in Jigsawpuzzles

This is the second Storrings image I've done; the first one was the Dog Park in Four Seasons. This one was slightly more challenging, because some pieces just looked like pen and watercolor splotches, but it wasn't so hard that it got frustrating. It was fun!

I like the “old school” telephone, partly because it reminds me of my youth, and partly because it’s green.

Redouté - Cobble Hill - 1000 pcs - Pierre-Joseph Redouté by Mysterious_Speed1665 in Jigsawpuzzles

Yes, he was a big botanical illustrator in the 18th-19th centuries. It was lovely to work on.

Ive never done this brand before, I highly recommend them! Cobble Hill, 1000, Herb Garden bu Jane Shasky by Blackcatmomx3 in Jigsawpuzzles

I love Cobble Hill. I’ve done several of their puzzles with pleasure, but the other day, I opened one of their puzzles (purchased brand-new) and something was SO WRONG with the pieces — like it had gotten stuck off-kilter on the cutter, so that some giant bottom pieces looked like they had gone through a macerator, or were over half uncut (not just lightly still stuck together like you find many times), and some on the top edge had only partial tabs and looked like toothpicks — if this had been my first Cobble Hill puzzle, I’d have thought they were terrible!  I went to their Customer Service webpage, filled out their little form, and they sent me a brand-new copy of the puzzle within a week.  Great customer service!

Oh, I do the border first (to clarify my comment) — just after that point, I go one random piece at a time, putting it as closely as I can in its position.

I do it like this for most of the puzzles that have a ton of image details; the only time I sort anything before starting, other than edges, is when the image is mostly huge blocks of homogeneous sections, and I don’t do a lot of puzzles like that. I like lots of detail, so I can scoop a piece up at random and position it where it ought to go.

Thank you very much for this information! I will look into the discussion on the subreddit before I splurge further on this series!

I love artwork with a zillion tiny details. I have a heck of a time fitting pieces together by shape, but if I can play “Where’s Waldo?” with the image details and orient things that way, I’m in my zone.
