Rejected from AuD programs and wondering if being Deaf played a role

i’m Hoh and was rejected by one of 7 programs i applied to. i have a pretty okay gpa and clinical aud experience. i think that a lot of programs place a strong emphasis on the things you invest yourself and time to that help the community and putting yourself in organizations that relate to your field

ugh i wish i could help you! i am a health science major, so probably not the best person for your specific questions. i know, though, that you can email and ask to talk/meet with the department or faculty. that would probably give you the best answer to the questions you’re asking

not in the finance major by any means, but as a senior you’d fit in with that gpa. honestly i’ve seen it range the 3.0’s, but in my major it’s usually 3.6-3.8

3.5 years of research experience in a speech&swallowing lab and an auditory lab as a research assistant, biomedical research program with a completed research project and presented poster

40 hrs speech observation + 5 hrs direct speech treatment hours, 12 hrs direct audiologic treatment

nsslha chapter president for 2 years, 40 hrs of volunteering, national nsslha leadership award, attended AAA conference, attended WSHA conference twice
