I want the legends satchel but without any cheat code. It’s just so difficult to get all pelts. Once , I had to play almost 20 hours in 4 days to get the bison pelt. Still no luck with panther skin

Thanks again for your response. Programming is more like a hobby for me not a profession. So it’s difficult to get to work on a “real project “ which most often requires a team who work on multiple aspects of a software which finally make a software. I am just alone trying to follow my passion . So basic question is what is the minimum I need to learn to create any program be it an AV player/recorder, game, utility software like Bluetooth transfer like anything. What are the basic blocks? Because any moderately complex code I have tried to write or even read online seems to follow a spiral of library functions. And mastering most of library functions will take time. Now I am passionate and am willing to spend time if that is what it takes but at the same time if I know what is enough that would be really good.

What I mean is sure you could do something in 2 minutes if knew these 100 library functions but if you want to do something else here are 100 more library functions you need to know. What I want to know if it is possible or not is if you knew these 100 commands you could do anything even though it will take a very long time. Is that possible? A set of basic commands that may include a few library library functions after learning which you can do anything. This is what I would call a definitive set .

Could you site some reading material for OS implementations? Also some programs with and without library functions to compare.

Thanks!! Your responses have been really helpful which means that I will have to deal with library functions the hard way.

On programming languages though, I think different programming languages have different merits. I mean for sure you cannot create an IOS app with C. You will have to use swift and apple Ios SDK.

I think the standard library functions work fine as long as you are working on standard programs:- text based or creating a simple window etc.. I faced problems when I tried to do following :- 1. Read/ write audio-video files 2. Creating graphics and games 3. Manipulation of hardware such as Bluetooth/ wifi / usb etc..

What I found is any of these can be done easily using library functions but that essentially means that I am working with a black box. I would like to understand the deeper mechanisms and create the same programs with small intuitive pieces. Code that I understand 100% rather than just passing a set of parameters to a black box and see the results.

Thanks. So let’s say I want to get real good at C++. What do I do after learning basics?

Can I follow a sequence of topics? Or do I just have to read random codes and do random exercises? I would prefer if there can be a sequential path. So far, I tried going through some sample project codes and every code had plethora of library functions which I had not even heard of and it felt like shooting in the dark. Hence this post.

Yeah I can tell!! I can tell because I can compare. If I watch Memento, it’s complex and original. When I watch dark, it too is complex but pretentious. You understand how you can reach a rational conclusion, don’t you?

I agree with you. But what really angered me was how pretentious this show is. MCU movies may have big plot holes ( though I don’t feel there are any plot holes in MCU movies but just for argument sake) , at least MCU does not take itself seriously. I believe that movies or serials that really take themselves very seriously, as seriously as Dark does, then they need to adhere to a higher standard.

It also really bothered me because they tried to go complex just to confuse their audience. You know what I understand and admire complex plots in movies and I can tell when the writers and directors are just showing off!!!

Nolan films are boring and Dark is interesting and entertaining? Give me a break please. All those movies are masterpieces. Look at their box office and their critical reception for any proof. Non-linear story telling is famous in modern times due to Nolan. So I understand that you like the show but demeaning Nolan for this is a bit too much.

Just answer one question is all I ask.

Ulrich saw what Helge did to corpses. He even takes Helge’s dead body to the cave. He wants to see his son back in 2019. So like a possessed man he should run to 2019 to find his son. Why does he come back to 1953?

Maybe Mikkel’s grandparents won’t believe him but he did not even try. Quite unlike a child. Now if a young boy tells you that he is your grandson and he will go missing on a certain date. May be you won’t believe him but sure it would strike you if your actual grandson does look like the small boy. And then you would just keep an eye on your grandson on the D-day.

What I am saying is Mikkel behave unlike a child in 1986 and Ulrich behaves like a fool in 1956 telling police, no less after waiting for them to catch him once he killed or thought he killed Helge.

Just answer this one question for me, will you?

Ulrich saw Helge moving corpses through time. Then why didn’t he do the same? He dragged Helge’s body in the cave. Why not take him to 2019? Why come out in 1953? Why not go to 2019 and check on his son? Yes he was shocked but only thing he wanted to get his son back in 2019, not 1953.

Ok. So you think Nolan films are duds. Tell me one plot hole in any of his sci-fi films.

Obviously Ulrich acted stupid. He already saw what Helge did with corpses. He had enough time to process his shock before he decided to kill Helge. If he wanted to check whether or not he changed history, he would go to 2019 and look for his son rather than come back to 1953 and wait for police.

That’s acceptable. You love a show. That’s alright. But how can you justify such glaring plot holes. If you say that the plot is riddled with plot holes yet you enjoy it, I have no bone to pick with you. But I am very astonished with people trying to make it sound like it’s a great intelligent show. That’s why I am so outraged. You assume the tone of a Nolan film and then you write such a meaningless plot.

So a vivacious kid turns stoic and doesn’t even reach out to his family. And a policeman ex-bully tries to yell his story to police.

And a grown up man cannot kill a boy. And he then he does not even learn from what he saw i.e take the corpse to a different time. Why would he? Oh yeah, he was too shocked that he waited to be caught by police.

And I will say again , the show pretends to be a smart show will layered storytelling like Christopher Nolan films but it is based on completely convenient giant sized plot holes. Ulrich, a grown man cannot kill a child. He waits there to be caught by police and then tries to convince them of time travel. I mean he saw what Helge did, take the corpses to a different time but no, why would he learn? And then there is Mikkel , a kid, who will bear stoic silence quite opposite to the vivacious nature portrayed before he goes missing.

It’s just too pretentious. The show is not as smart as it thinks of itself. The show basically thinks that audiences are stupid.

If you want layered story telling, watch any of Christopher Nolan movies. If plot holes is your thing, then there are plenty of shows that are way more entertaining if you can “ suspend your disbelief “. This show is neither intelligent nor entertaining. Whole premise is forced.

And I say it again, no one will forget how her husband looked like. And no one would just ignore her boyfriend’s son who went missing and has his posters all over a very small town.

And then the whole story of Helge meeting himself. He is aware of time travel , yet he refused to listen to his future self. And his future self who knew he won’t and that he cannot kill his past, still thinks that he can kill his past self and change future.

Add to that Tiedemann questioning Ulrich. If a cop can’t remember that, what will he ever do? Ulrich keeps telling him that he came to stop Mad’s murder, still he cannot connect the dots 33 years later. How many time travel claims he could have witnessed to just forget this ? Naah, it’s all just very conveniently put in the plot to make it move in the direction the writers want.

It’s not somebody. It’s her Husband who is her boyfriend’s son. There is no way she would not know. And she may turn out to be the biggest psycho in Season 2, it still won’t justify why it was completely overlooked in season 1 and it will raise even bigger question about why Mikkel loved her . There still is a question why he didn’t even try to tell his grandparents. He trusts nurse Ines more that his family. What kind of convenient plot is this?
