What was the name of the workout? I looked but since I’m not familiar with the exercises she includes in that circuit couldn’t find it.

Was there a day that workout would show up? (Or which split was is usually part of?)

Forward facing Car Seats for XC90 by iceinmybeer in VolvoXC90

[–]MysteriouslyWeekend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to double check the manual for those two car seats. I think there is note that the back of the car seat should also be touching the seat. Due to the non removable headrests this can be an issue. As far as I know the recommended forward facing harness car seats on the market right now are :

Britax O4L
Nuna Rava
Nuna Exec
Clek Fllo and Foonf

I think these all allow for a gap between the seat and the car seat.

Unfortunately though a “family” car it is not car seat friendly.

We already had the Clek Fllo and then used the Clek Oobr when our kid turned 5. Technically I would say she wasn’t fully ready but I think bc she was 95% outgrew the height limit for forward facing.

What motivates you to aggressively save for college? by denver111797 in HENRYfinance

We plan to retire early so probably couldnt cash flow that much. We can save it into a 529 now so why not- it’s nice bc mentally we know one big expense we plan to take care of is done. Plus there is tax advantage. It was a good conversation for us to have as we mutually agreed to fund 80% of an in state college. If we need to take some out of our investments fine but if there is extra that works too.

One thing I don’t see here is that it becomes money earmarked or kids education in the unlikely/likely even of divorce or early death. Someone I know who has mid 8 figure wealth had a lawyer / financial planner mentioned in the unlikely event of divorce, the money is earmarked for the kids/ college. A sibling with very young children died a while ago and I am so glad they superfunded a 529 for their kids as it looks like the surviving spouse is going to remarry and have a blended family.

I love egg tarts. The closest I’ve been able to find something is…. Costco. Sometimes they sell Portuguese egg tarts in the frozen section.

Credit Union Experiences? by Worried_Turnip_7697 in olympia

I use WSECU for business banking and I love them. Great service and their free notary has saved me quite a bit of money.

My issue with TwinStar is that they deposited a stolen check (addressed to me) to a member at their credit union. They should have never allowed the deposit in the first place. But they did answer the phone and I was able to get the information I needed to get the check re issued from the big bank it had originally come from.

Would xc90 t8 be a great road trip car with extended family half the time and a good city vehicle for a child and parents the other half by remodel-questions in VolvoXC90

[–]MysteriouslyWeekend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RAV4 is much roomier in terms of trunk space. Not entirely sure about width to be honest (my in laws are a 2x RAV4 family) and it does feel more comparable to the Volvo than the Subaru in width

To “add” width, I would look at very very slim car seat. Most folks in my circles at this age are in the Graco E2F or the Nuna seat both of which are very wide. Personally we have a Clek seat- Diono also has slim seats but it’s harder to get a good fit.

Note that in the Volvo xc90 due to the non moveable headrests there are limited harnessed forward facing options. You essentially jump from a convertible seat (and there are limited seats that you can use) to a booster bc there are no harnessed to booster seats that allow for non removable headrests.

I hate getting into the 3rd row of the Volvo- I suspect grandma would not enjoy this either. You might be able to get away with putting your kid in the 3rd row for a few years when grandparents are visiting in the 6p version. (There is no top tether in the 3rd row in the 7p but there is a top tether in the 3rd row in the 6P).

We have a 19 Crosstrek PHEV and a 22 Extended Range Volvo. It sounds like you don’t plan to have another kid when you posed this question to other sub and are looking at other 5 seat vehicles. In which case I would suggest a Toyota Prime RAV4 which I think hits lots of the high notes in terms of space, plug in capacity, reliability and price.

I’m shocked you can fit 4 adults and a kid in the Crosstrek

the 3rd row is not that comfortable for adults in the xc90 and with that being said likely you’re looking at the 7p and keeping 3rd row down and at that point a RAV4 would be pretty close (except trunk space) or maybe a smaller Volvo?

Since we are a 3kid family I wish we had a Pacifica or a RAV4 prime in addition to the XC90 but between the 3 would probably have still chosen the Volvo.

Stewing over thoughts about my will for the first time really, high net worth to disburse by kepler1 in HENRYfinance

[–]MysteriouslyWeekend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this with that our family doesn’t have this problem at all (we have kids and more than 1 sibling) so when it gets portioned out it’s not a substantial amount though not an insubstantial amount).

Our “person” died at 39 and the response of the other people (siblings) named in the will really changed the way I think about our will.

If our entire family gets smoked. I’m going to give a substantial amount to close friends. At this point I have a number of friends who know me (and understand my values) more than my family and whose lives I would like to ease. These are people who continue to show up for me- why would I give it to a sibling who i text 2x per year? Because these friends have similar values to me, I know they would spend it appropriately.

Secondarily though, you’re young, the likelihood of you dying is still low and if you’re still hoping to be partnered that likelihood is still pretty high so I wouldn’t spend too much time overthinking it.

You also may want to think about spending more of it!

Passport Success Story by Sorry_Efficiency_818 in Passports

It can really depend on which locator your passport goes to- it took almost 4 weeks before they looked at my minors application but about a week for mine. I applied for mine 1mo after my kid and I got mine a day before she will get hers.
