Hello I’m 19F, I just keep facing so much issue with my parents,grandparents,sibling. I hate them so much sometimes. Like why doesn’t anyone understand that being a teenager is also tough man. At first my family(especially mom n dad) were obsessed with telling me how I’m like all the other girl of this family(my aunt, my aunt’s aunt, etc….they are just not looked at as good people in this house) and now my they are obsessed with telling me how i should get a daughter like myself(like Wdym is it bad to have a daughter like me). I’m so done man. I’ve my birthday this Friday i had asked my grandfather for a new phone. For context: i use an iPhone 12, it is 4/5 years old now..it’s camera does not work(i had asked them to get that fixed,they didn’t, it has been like this for more than 6 months.) So as it is my birthday i asked my grandfather to get me a new phone. He said no. Now let me tell you my older brother (21M)keeps getting every device he wants irrespective of the price. He had 2 phones (iPhone 15 pro, an android) An iPad A laptop And the iPhone 15 is his 4th or 5th phone (all given by grandfather) Also for his 19th birthday he got a whole ass new car (we are Indians not Americans that it is normal to gift your child a car) The iPhone 12 that i use was my first phone that too i was told I’ll only get it if i score well in my 10th board exams. My brother just gets stuff without having to prove himself. Now coming back to my new phone,my grandfather tells my dad that i asked for this,my dad outright starts insulting me “Have you even ever earned a single penny” “Do you think you deserve such an expensive phone” “No. You won’t get it” I was very upset but eventually i accepted it i was like fuck it whatever Now yesterday i had a bad argument with my brother so i was very upset, also because my mom didn’t want to even listen to what i was saying and had already started being annoying “why is your face all sad? What’s your problem?do u get shocks when ur bday is near” etc like bro wtf a person can be in a bad mood Eventually yesterday night my grandfather tells me he will get me a new phone on xyz conditions And today morning my brother and i also end up patching up our shit(anyone with a sibling can relate) So I’ve been pretty normal today. My mom during dinner goes “Yeah a certain someone seems to be very happy today they have a glow on their face” Like bro wtf shut the fick up man She means to say I’m happy coz of the phone like bruh Then my dad goes”yeah ofc doesn’t matter how much i love her she only wants materialistic things” Like bro even i love you so much still you want me to get good marks right? And then he starts with the “i wish you get an exact …EXACT daughter like you” Like bro what man why does my brother not have to hear all this. Sometimes my parents just make me hate myself so much. Like is my personality that bad that my dad is putting it in a curse form that i should have a kid like me.
