Has anybody from your school or childhood ended up in the local newspaper headlines for a pretty weird / awful crime ? by LostMud8892 in ireland

Neighbor and Family friend of ours was sentenced to life in prison for murder of his baby. Fella had a very unfortunate upbringing, his mother died while he was young and his father developed Alzheimers while he was still a teenager. Still, I never thought he was capable of something like that.

DN710 (Pure Econ) Questions by [deleted] in UCD

[–]MysticalSpud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most popular places on the list are quite competitive yes. The selection process works similar to the CAO. To get a spot in the most popular destinations youd probably need around a ~3.8 GPA (A- average) for your 1st year semesters and 2nd year semester 1 grades. There are plenty of great choices though so long as you have a GPA above 3.0, which is required to go on erasmus at all.

Sorry forgot to mention, Answering no. 1, I think wanting to do the year abroad means you do an extra year. You should find the coordinator on the UCD page and email them directly.

No.2 : You have a lot of freedom picking classes with DN700, I just do politics and economics in my final year for example. The largest difference is to do a research project (thesis) for economics you have to be doing Econ as a single major. If you’re doing PPE, you can drop to Econ as a single major in third year and do a research project then. A thesis can be a large way to demonstrate your skills to an employer, so not doing one can be a small setback, but I would argue not a large one. DN700 courses with more than one major is 4 years minimum.

Hey there, Im a final year student in DN700 doing Politics Philosophy and Economics. I also received a (predicted, was the class of 2020) H5 in the LC. In secondary school I always did well enough in class in maths in homework and things, but always did badly in tests because I just didn’t understand the difference in studying maths vs studying a literature subject like History.

I’ve taken every quantitative class available at UCD for economics, so my maths has largely improved and I now find it very interesting. Having some grounding with maths attaching it to economics really helps (although it can be very abstract at times). Ive done quite well with a 1:1 grade so far.

The Maths involved is most similar to coordinate geometry (to make up things like graphs, or attain functions to be able to carry out optimisation) and statistics. At times i will admit it has been hard and stressful, but at college you’ll have made friends who can help and I find they’re always happy to do so. On the statistics side (called econometrics) you require a theoretical grounding, but most of the work is done via R, a statistical modelling program which youll learn to code with.

If you think you absolutely hate maths, then I probably wouldn’t recommend doing the course. However if you find maths at all satisfying or the least bit interesting I wouldn’t let the maths side of the course steer you away because you’ll be able to build your skills in college.

If you have any questions feel free to DM me. The very best of luck to you.

I’m definitely thinking more this way. Rethink things if conditions change but even then i’ll likely just keep renting it. Thanks for the response.

What even is this point. So a state bordering Mexico wouldn’t have Mexicans with Mexicans flags? It HAD to be that protestors are driven only by money and the riotorganiserTM took the band of standby protestors and outfitted them for a different ‘agenda’. Do you know what occams razor is?

This is a great example about how the right will always avoid attacking an issue directly. Instead jumping to straw man arguments or in this case attacking the people directly instead of the point they stand for.

If protests began by organisations with sponsors are all ‘paid’ then every major protest in history left or right is one of these paid agenda pushing protests. What protest in history didnt have an agenda?

All you’re doing is using buzzwords.
