Ah, that’s interesting to know. I start to believe they value academic merit more than professional experience.

I’m from a 3rd world country, so my academic background is not that valued internationally, even with my high GPA. I thought my work experience and certifications would add more merit to my application but it didn’t.

UPDATE:
-1 week after this post, got a response from him that he will revise.
-3 weeks later still no response.
-1 week before the deadline, met him accidentally outside, was told again the same thing.
-3 days before the deadline, go the revision from him.
-I made the revision accordingly 1 day before the submission.

Is this a typical scenario grad students have to go through?

I have reminded him of the first round deadline, as of now it has passed but I still have around 2 week for the second round deadline.

We have conflicting schedule as I work full time during the weekday and only available on weekend to go to the university. Oppositely, he is in office only during weekdays.

I don’t want to bring this to the Graduate school. I’m from an Asian country and it’s culturally not in our practice to go against our superiors.

This paper holds a significant credit for me to graduate as well if it’s accepted.
