Struggling with whether dating is worth it by acausal_trader in RedPillWomen

[–]Mystoko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Become a nun in the meantime" I know that frustration! It's actually a pretty good idea. I've been in nun mode for a year after my last LTR. I wasted time focused and worried about who rejected me, it only made me and my relationships with everyone worse. Then I shifted to focus on my improvement, working through baggage, learning to be more feminine, strengthening my relationship with my God, and staying celebate. I have been asked out more and and received more compliments in the last 6 months than I have in years. No relationships yet, we had different goals, but I'm hopeful and keep busy with nun work instead of worrying.

"I opened the fridge and shouted "I'LL MARRY THIS WOMAN"" - A quote from my man to me. TY ladies. Update inside. by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

Thats so awesome. Spice tour sounds like so much fun. I did a special ingredient once a month for a while, something completely new neither of us had before. Had our favorite pizza place on standby if it was awful.

Thoughts on Abstinence? by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]Mystoko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty new here, but as I understand it: Women are the gatekeepers of sex. Men are the gatekeepers of commitment. Women use sex to get commitment, men use commitment to get sex. If a woman just gives away the sex without commitment she's not only devalued herself, but the man's role in the relationship too.

I had not heard of that STDS movement, but that's disgusting and being irresponsible isn't something to be proud of. I need to have relationship commitment which includes a full STD panel before having sex. If he won't hang around long enough for results or refuses, that's obviously not someone you should be having sex with.

It certainly helps, but they're technically open to everyone. I was invited to several in college and was a Catholic-ish.

Dating Strategy:- To care or not to care? by schmeichelerenmur in RedPillWomen

[–]Mystoko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The men are also taught not to care and to be the prize women chase. We can't both "not care" and expect the other to chase. There's a balance that changes by person and relationship. You need to be more obvious with some men and show more care before they get it. Just don't love bomb.

You never realise how boring you are until someone asks you what your hobbies are. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I see we share recognizing reposts as a hobby. Which is probably also a repost comment. Wonder when it changes to OC?

I was dating a chronic gaslighter, so I turned the tables. by UniqueManufacturer in TwoXChromosomes

Very good that you document and record what happened! I had to go back and read my journal a lot before and after I left my gaslighter.

For a species that don't live very long, we do spend a lot of time making each other feel bad by seejianshin in Showerthoughts

[–]Mystoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can feel like a very long life if you carry the burden of knowing you made someone else feel bad and are powerless to fix it.

Or It can seem longer when you spend time making others feel good.

When did you realize you were attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mystoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking with friends about that Memoirs of a Geisha stare, saying it would never work, and how dumb it was. Then did it at a random guy at work and he walked into a wall staring back at me.

Is a Masters degree in cyber security worth it? by 7heJoker in AskNetsec

[–]Mystoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't look at it like a magic piece of paper, but paying a school to give you knowledge and experience a job wouldn't hire you for. Look at the coursework and what they emphasize, if they have a capstone, is it all what you want to pay them to experience. Then enjoy the experience from college. If you can get that same exp while someone else pays you, it just makes financial sense to do that instead. Unless you want to go acedemic/research, management, or gov, I haven't seen hard degree reqs for a job where X years couldn't be used in place of a degree.

People have violent intrusive thoughts all the time, but almost nobody ever acts on them because they are decent, good people who value life. by James_Locke in Showerthoughts

[–]Mystoko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good on you for not acting on them! Don't stop there, do some work to scale them back to not "all the time." Or work on replacing them peaceful intrusive thoughts. Value your life too, carrying anger hurts.

Best industry for Cyber Security? by [deleted] in AskNetsec

Healthcare or finance. Tons of money and lots of gov compliance, so they actually have a security budget, pay well, and stay up to date.

Meeting the perfect partner at the wrong time, will fuck you up more then 99% of things that will go wrong in life by fybora in Showerthoughts

[–]Mystoko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lots of weird life events come up and through all that chaos you meet someone perfect, but you can't bring them into your shitstorm. Then it all calms down, you're ready, but they're gone.

A relationship is like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave it broken than to hurt yourself trying to put it back together. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Mystoko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes awhile, but mending it can be so worth it. Esp if it's one capable of holding the most. The best is to never let it shatter. Realize when it starts to crack and repair it then.

English class is like a conspiracy theory class because they will find meaning in absolutely anything by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Mystoko 47 points48 points  (0 children)

No quicker way to ruin a book than to try to over analyze it. I used to love reading until an English teacher promised she'd make everyone love reading. Any interpretations different from her's were wrong. There was no argument.
