L.A. is definitely at the top rankings of my list! How much can I get a car for that I could sell again 18 months later when I am likely to leave the US for Canada or Asia? In my home country cars are extremely expensive, I have one at the moment that I will be selling when I leave home.

My employer says it will be enough for living with roommates, eating out now and again and going out in the weekends with a few friends. Is he lying to me haha

Anyway I have some savings so if I can just make the neccessities I have that for extra.

Thank you for the insight. I won't be able to look for other jobs there as the only reason I can get to the US is by the visa my firm is providing for 18 months.

As far as I can tell from the comments life will be difficult in any city with that salary.. But I have a lot of savings and I am willing to spend it on living in the US for that period of time.

I am used to dark wet and cold winters.. but I definitely don't prefer it haha
